I never understood it. They share a city with one of the top 3-4 storied franchises in sports history. Was it just matter of wanting to be different and not root for the lakers?

There's no one reason common to all Clippers fans. In my case, I became a fan because my family has season tickets when I was a kid. There are some people who are Clips fans because they like to root for the underdog. Lots of different reasons.
