May will be here soon enough and then we won't have to explain how the Spurs are going home in round two. I hope y'all draw Spurs and we get GSW.

LAC/OKC WCF FTW
Tbh it's contrarian and unlikely, but I could see it.

I don't think the clips are there yet, but they are closer than their record (27-14, not bad by any means) would suggest.

Top 10 in a lot of defensive categories, and while they obviously have had trouble closing out games this year, they've held fourth quarter leads against SAS, Twice against GSW, and was a victim to a game winner against OKC that the league ruled shouldn't have counted. They've only played SAS and OKC a combined two times in 41 games. The read on who the Clips are remains murky at best, and they aren't close to the same team that played GSW twice in the first 12 games of the season or so.

Obviously we didn't win those games so there's something to be said there, but I don't think they are so far away that those series would be a guarantee W for GSW  or SAS. Would have to beat Dallas / Memphis first tho, and after Last season I take nothing for granted

No no no. Kings thread needs balance. Rck and Nelson with the pessimism, with a dash of NT23 depression and anger, sprinkled with the rest of our 1st 3 quarters of hope then that last hint of 4th quarter meltdown frustration. That recipe has been working, we don't need to tweak it. It's fine the way it is.

Dallas could beat LAC in 7, but nobody else could win a game against them first round.(Mem Hous Sac Utah Por)
The top 5 I don't think changes for the rest of the season so, Dallas/Clipshow is as good as guaranteed (a-friend math) and Clips win that series 4/5 times.

Spurs round two would be a LAC victory
GSW round two for OkC is a victory

If Dallas beats LAC I think they could get Spurs too.
I think Dallas could beat OKC in 7 so it might be Dallas/OKC WCF with a DALLAS vs Lebron rematch.

Dirk might get his second ring man

I don't like this optimism, Nelson
It's warranted.

There's no reason, health provided, that they don't make the playoffs this year. They have a more than competent bench, very good starting five, and a five man who right now is making 30+ pts and 10+ rebs look rudimentary.

WCS + The Kings quartet of Rondo / Ben / Rudy / DMC have a net rtg of +21.2, with a 94.4 defensive rtg. That's very, very good.

I could the Mavs winning a 7 game series vs the Clips.

But that's it out of the top 5.

But I'm give you this rep for putting that out into the universe.

6-3 in 2016 with one of those losses being Warriors and one being a Deron Williams buzzer beater in 2OT, 5 of those 9 games on the road. and Cousins leading the league in scoring in 2016

Tbh I don't think the Mavs are going to hold steady for that 5th spot. Think it'll be Clippers / Grizz for that 4/5 matchup.

They are in a dog fight with memphis, and they have had a relatively easy schedule thus far and have won a lot of close games that could have easily been losses for them. Tonight was another game that went down to the wire with them.

They play OKC, Hou, GSW, San Antonio, and Memphis all within their next ten games. If they are tied with Memphis now, I don't see it holding.

Something catastrophic has to happen to GSW for them to not be back in the WCF...but then again they haven't played SAS or OKC yet this season. 38 games left 7 against #2 and #3.

*Shrugs*

The facts are there. They could  even catch Houston if they get some breaks their way. Either way, if the Warriors were to play the Kings in the first round I don't think that's just a cakewalk. Warriors in five but it would be entertaining, and it wouldn't be easy.

That atmosphere in Arco for Game 3 would be lit.

I thought OKC
Had played GSW once but I guess they haven't.

I don't think OKC has lost to a non-playoff team.
I think the Knicks got them, Knicks going to make the playoffs? nick. nick.

Should add that the mavs have a top 10 in Strength of Schedule for remaining games this season. If they slide from 5 to 6 I wouldn't be surprised.

idk man :\

as long as we keep playing competitive basketball we'll be in the mix.

Sort of surprised Iman Shumpert was on the Linsanity team looking back felt more recent

Spurs wouldn't have lost a Game 7 in S.A., I mean, let's go over it: they nearly beat you at Staples while Tony Parker was playing through an injury posting Per-36 avgs of 13.0 pts & 4.3 asts in 7gms (truth). San Antonio wins 1.) if it's in S.A. 2.) if Tony takes game or two of series off. The Spurs have shown this season that there's really nothin to panic about when they put their PGs Mills, etc. in any set that suits them, and they can get productive play.

They'd win this year of course if the two matched up. Oh look Tony's got a hip injury.
