lol yea i do feel like gsw would mop them up light work con edison style.

russ and kd would literally have to drop 40 a night. def not happening.
they can do that during the regular season alot of the times but they cant do that in the playoffs. teams play harder obviously and your weaknesses get magnified. okc just aint good enough w, they arent winning with that iso offense and team as constructed . iso offense doesnt work in the playoffs. a-friend knows this , he knows ball.

. Good regular season team but thats where it ends.

what eastern team would come close to beating the warriors, spurs, thunder and clippers in a 7 game series?

Rant:

People always complain about the hack-a-shaq strategy, but how about the players that suck at FTs do a improve-your-FTs strategy
They got all the resources to improve yet cats like Deandre Jordan and Drummond shoot at paltry levels
Lazy

it doesnt work like that.  its not that difficult to understand.

were talking about FREE THROWS. it's the part of the gm where you get a shot from like 15ft where nobody is defending you. you work on it in practice, now translate it to gm. giving guys a pass for not being able to make it at a decent rate :rolleyes
were not talking about some guy working on post moves or trying to extend his gm to the three pt line.

rick barry reached out to shaq, but dude declined. said he had too much pride to be asking for help and the thought of shooting underhand was below him. he's reached out to others in the league, but guys just dont make that effort

You know these guys are putting in hours every practice to get better right? Do you think they just skip free throws altogether?

I don't mind the strategy but when the spurs are doing it in the 2nd qurter when they have the lead....

I was getting home at near midnight some of those games

practice does not make perfect

perfect practice makes perfect

you can practice all you want but if you're doing it wrong you're only adding to your bad habits

these guys are ridiculous thinking its just laziness.  i can practice something all i want , if im not good at it , all the practice in world  aint going to mean ish. they use blake , tim d and malone (these dudes actually shoot during games, or have a set shot aside from fts)  but look at the guys that cant shoot fts and dont improve . they really have no shot at all period. dwight , drummond , jordan. when you see these dudes ever taking a jumper or shot outside of a few feet from the basket

. everything is close to the basket for them dudes.

That Ninja Rose was BYKE but will go back to normal comes Friday against the Celtics...

Then Ninja Rose will be BYKE again against the Cavs on Saturday.

Lol Derrick is the epitome of playing up to his competition

Average point guards don't get him up no more

He will probably light Kyrie up for a quick 8 points and then they'll have to put someone else on him like they did in the playoffs

oh i dont mind the strategy at all, its boring to watch buts its a part of the game.

. i dont feel bad for dudes who cant hit freethrows

but to say its laziness is one of the dumbest things ive heard.

It's not laziness. I've seen guys practice in college for an hour straight each day and still be crappy FT shooters.

There's also the problem of pride. No one wants to bank in a free throw because it's embarrassing but they have no problem taking 20 and missing 15 with 3 of them being airballs

nailed it. pride is in the way. dudes like drummond, shaq, deandre etc etc... the excuse is that their hands are so big. but kawhi dont have that issue. they claim they practice free throws a lot but i dont buy it. even if "the ball feels like a tennis ball" in their hands as shaq put it, then change the shot. when i try to accurately toss a small ball, i lob it. im not saying they should LOB the shot per se, but they definitely could alter it. if ur putting in maximum effort into practicing free throws ( i dont buy that but for the sake of argument lets say its true) and ur still not hitting, change the form. start practicing underhand. granny shot if u have to. but u are KILLING your team, practically point shaving by missing 20+ free throws in a night.

to drive it home, if shaq could shoot FTs at an average rate, he would be the highest scoring player ever. thered be no way to defend him for the last like 7 years of his play. but like dman said, shaq declined. aint no way these dudes putting in maximum effort with their natural talents while ur average every day rec hooper with a job and hella responsibilities and barely any free time can put in work and get better. i dont wanna hear it.

Lol Agreed.

As long as that Ninja Rose comes out of the shinobi temple for big games, I don't mind.

Ninja Rose still letting top tier PG know who's boss.

AN HOUR? bruh if u suck at something u think an hour a day is good enough? u supposed to do an hour a day if you're already good at it. if u suck, u shouldnt even be looking at time frames. u should be looking at shots made and shots made in a row.

on that ray allen 500 a day ****. not staring at the clock after 20 misses saying times up.

Lol yes Ray Allen was a good shooter cuz he practiced alot . see how foolish comparison are brought up. Kawhi, who can shoot 3s and can shoot compared to the likes of dj , drummond or dwight .

Like I said dumbest thing I've heard that it's laziness.

Yall know Ricky Barry was trolling when he came up with the underhanded shot, just turned out to work ok for him, but there's no reason to believe it would work for everything, really reduces margin for error. I'd recommend shooting with one hand. Same form, overhand, palm the ball, guide hand to hold steady, soften your grip and flick of the wrist for the bigs who dont shoot jumpers anyways so they claim they have no form to revert to for an uncontested, nobody moving, 15ft shot.

Hell, you could conceivably dunk or layup from the ft line (can't back up further than the circle) so long as the ball gets to the rim/backboard before your feet hit the ground in the paint, and obviously you jumped entirely behind the line

I'm not pro changing any rules. Guys have to get better. You make 20million dollars a year, figure it out. If not, it's a weakness just like any other, the other team's job is to exploit it. Just like if you're slow, you'll get beat off the dribble, if you're small you'll get posted up, etc. Honestly, if you can shoot 50% over about 4 possessions, teams will probably come out of it, especially if your team is getting stops too.

yeah im not down with changing rules either. they cant shoot, thats on them . part of the game but to say its from a lack of effort or practice  isnt realistic. Thats all i got to say about that.

but guys practicing the wrong way. your current form isn't working. i wouldn't even be mad if guys started trying to bank it in, underhand, jump, shoot with the off hand, etc.
even lebron tried switching it up with his stance this yr, looking like a wide receiver, lol. ray allen even tried helping brawny bron, but he just sticks to what's comfortable, even after allen breaks down his form. guys are just stuck in their ways
