They all have access to the same resources, why can't DJ at least improve somewhat instead of hovering at the 40% range.

Anyway, this just proves DJ is unreliable and can't be relied on when the game is on the line. Have fun losing in the playoffs with him bricking and sitting on the bench after he bricks multiple FTs.
Because there are physical limitations to be had on certain skills. Free throw shooting is included in this.

no we agree with that, we just don't agree that the limit is 40% b

No one is expecting a perfect line fam
Just at least a 10% improvement.

Iggy shot 59% last year, and this year is currently at 72%. I think DJ can make that improvement if he actually finds the right routine instead of doing the same ol ish.
Until then, DJ gonna be trash at the FT line. Enjoy those bricks while you can.

i'm not quite sure why you & shoe think we want him to be a good free throw shooter. nobody is really expecting that. we just don't to see him shooting 40% :x and i can't believe is acceptable by you two. i mean it's logical to think that a professional team is throwing the right amount of money out to fix the situation but i'm not quite sure believe in that. or else you have more nba teams with similar health specialists like the Suns.

I never said it was acceptable. Its a major problem. Its one of the reasons I was going to be ok with him leaving the Clippers as a FA last Summer. I'm just responding to the idea that there must be something he can do to make himself better than a 40% shooter. I'm not sure that's the case since he does put in the effort and has tried tons of techniques and none of it has worked. So, at this point, I don't really expect him to improve much, if at all.

And for the record, DJ's free throw shooting - even if it remains terrible -- isn't going to be the reason they advance or don't advance in the playoffs. Just like it wasn't last year or the year before that.

Shiittt, you think I want to accept it?

I don't accept it, but it's a reality that i'm trying to get across. Not everyone can be good, or even decent at a skill such as free throw shooting.

If world class shooting coaches can't help, then it can't be as easy as you guys are making it out to be, right? I mean, this is a logical presumption to make, is it not Fris? Come on bro

Each player is independent of each other man, looking at Iggy and then expecting DJ to be better is a fallacy within itself.

while we're on the topic of FT shooting, the New York Knicks lead the league in FT% :smokin

love how no one on the team is a liability at the line

Imma just come out as a hater and say DJ ain't ish especially with that trash routine on the FT line

Funny thing is that DH made 14/18 FTs against the Clippers 3 nights ago

yeah that's plausible. just like how his shooting coach or whatever clippers are doing to help DJ aren't the best methods and how he can probably improve with another method.
*Shrugs* It is what it is.

Let's hope he hits enough Free Throws to steal a W on the road tonight.

crazy thing is, deandre improved to 52pct in 11-12 and basically gotten worse,

He's at 52% in his last month (60 attempts). But who knows if that's gonna last or not

I was looking at the worst Ft shooters and I was shocked Draymond was so low. Now that's a confusing one. The bruce bowen types that can hit 3's but are poor ft shooters. Iggly, too.

So if everyone worked as hard as they could at free throws, you agree that they would all shoot them as good as steph curry? Because there are no limitations right?

There are absolutely physical limitations. Hand size, for example. The bigger someone's hand is in relation to the ball, the harder it is to shoot. Like a normal-sized person shooting a FT with a softball. Its harder than with a regulation basketball. Yes, plenty of players overcome it, but it is a physical factor that makes it more difficult for some people.
