Greatest basketball players walking earth.

Can't consistently make a shot standing still with no one around them.

Seems legit.

By this logic, you'd have to ask why all NBA players don't shoot 90% from the line. Best players on Earth, simple shot, not defense. None of them should miss more than a few shots here and there, right?

free throws are about consistency. develop a routine. practice the routine enough to become automatic. a free throw should literally be you catching your breath, relaxing, hit the routine. if u miss fine, but at least split. you have practically no responsibilities outside of basketball. take a couple hours a day to practice it.

on this subject, what is everyones routine to shoot a FT? mine is to bounce it off to my right side. catch it with two hands like im picking the ball up off a rack and then shoot. as long as i "pick the ball up off a rack" im nailin that free throw most of the time.
1) No matter how hard you practice, you can't simulate shooting free throws in a 19,000 seat arena filled to capacity, and you're playing the OKC thunder primetime on TNT and you've been battling and wrestling with Steven Adams and Serge Ibaka for the past 6 minutes. There's nothing like game simulation. It's why Austin Rivers can work tirelessly on his jumper but have a stretch this season where he was 4/39 from 3. Yeah I know it's Austin Rivers, but that shouldn't matter because...well he worked on his jumper and and "it's all about consistency"

In theory, practicing allows you to fall back on the habits you form so even under bright lights you'll be able to make those free throws, but that's not the case for everyone.

2) There's normally a dot on the free throw line, put my lead foot there, 3 dribbles, deep breath, and let that thang go.

NBA fans need to band together and get Javale McGee into one of these before he's done

I'd disagree.

Steph Curry, and JJ Redick's shooting is a genetic feat. It's something that naturally came to them. They were predisposed to shooting the ball at an elite level. Sure they worked to harness that, but the skill was already there.

We see the connection between overall shooting and free throw shooting. Free throw shooting, like shooting overall, is a skill and to a degree is inherited. You can work all you want, but you won't shoot as well as yae yae or JJ.
THESE dudes arguing otherwise are ridiculous.

If you would have told me that Kyle Lowry would be a 2 time NBA all star when he first came into the league...

man, what a time

lmaooooooooooo kawhi has no entertainment value. theres no defense played in the all star game anyways. WHY is kawhi there?
