I don't know what stat you're referring to, but it shows a trend. I'm not a fan of arbitrary stats either, but taking a recent sample size gives perspective and can show progression, development or cohesion.[/QUOTE]
Or... they could just be showing a hot streak the last 10 games, where maybe the next ten games the player is decent, and at times horrible.

Trend stats, I don't hate. It's the combination of single elements that makes me roll my eyes.

i.e. A player who goes on a multiple game 30+ point scoring run that is mentioned by Niketalk, on a Friday night, will not be an MVP 90% of the time.
