WHY DO PEOPLE STILL THINK CHRIS PAUL IS BETTER THAN DERON WILLIAMS?
I just don't understand it. It was debatable like 4-5 years ago even though I sided with Deron back then but now it shouldn't even be a question who's better. Deron Williams is:
A better scorer

Can play above the rim

Faster

Equal level passers

Better transition player

IMO a better defensive player because he can guard much larger players and locks CP3 up almost every time they play.

I don't see how its even a question. I flipped to the Clippers Nets game real quick and got to see Deron Willams cook up Chris Paul as he usually does, but this times he's playing on the Nets against a stacked Clippers Roster. Chris Paul has just always had an enormous hype machine behind him, while Deron Williams is relative unknown.

Skimming through, I see Ska's vision for a better NBA thread has already faded into Bolivian.

On another note, Anyone know where to find that parody video of "Mark Cuban" giving that shocking interview talking about Rajon Rondo and the disaster of that was the Mavericks' season last year
Probably the wrong parody vid, but still funny.

i dont like him either.

he said son should've got drafted to a small city. said he aint built for that LA life. said son walks in with the shades and the mcm bags and the theatrics like a star but be burnt biscuits on the court. I'm paraphrasing. lol.

What I've BEEN saying.

Think about all of the Lakers top pics they have had. Kobe wasn't stunting around LA as a 17 yr old. D-LO is acting cool like he's already make it. He gotta get humbled, grow his eyebrows back, cut the cruddy temp and get some dog in him.

Shorty acts like he made it already. Naw. You gotta put in work and produce if you're the #2 pick to the lakers, and a Pg at that.

You're kidding right? I'm pretty sure Kobe did one of his first conferences his rookie yr in shades and talking in the third person. I'm not even exaggerating (this time) either

Emmanuel Mudiay versus D'Angelo Russell

MPG 30.8 / 24.3
PPG 12.5 / 8.5
FGA 13.8 / 10.3
FG% 30.9 / 34.1
3P% 47.1 / 25.0
RPG 3.3 / 2.5
APG 6.5 / 2.8
TOPG 6.3 / 1.5
TS% .412 / .406
USAGE 30.8 / 20.5
AST Rate 23.3 / 18.7
TO Rate 22.4 / 10.2
Reb Rate 5.5 / 5.5
PER 4.86 / 6.86
Value Added -11.3 / -6.0

One has the 12th Highest Usage in the NBA, the other has the 4th highest usage on his team.

One has the keys, one has other mouths that need to be feed just as much as his (we don't even need to focus on Kobe or Lou Will on that, and could just focus on Clarkson & Randle).

While Russell should be allowed to make mistakes, and have more reign over the offense like Mudiay has, it still does not translate into being any better.

So really no need to panic about Russell, unless of course we should be panicking about Mudiay.

I don't think there's reason to panic about either of them yet, but I think this is a case in which stats don't tell the whole story.

Ska dreamed of a brave new NBA S&T thread devoid of hot takes.  A kinder NT where we focused on the issues at hand rather than going off on our wild diatribes. We were to be like knights of a table round.

It almost worked too if not for the NT Chaos Theory.  NT Chaos is the science of surprises, of the nonlinear and the unpredictable. It teaches us to expect the unexpected. While most traditional science deals with supposedly predictable phenomena like gravity, electricity, or chemical reactions, NT Chaos Theory deals with nonlinear things that are effectively impossible to predict or control, like a stars level of washedness, haircut to turnover ratios, alpha - beta tendencies, player's brain states, and so on.

No there isn't reason to panic for either of them.

But when you do look at the whole story. Mudiay has the keys, Russell has not be allowed to have them. Mudiay has guys who don't need the ball. Even if you took Kobe & Lou Will off the roster. He would still have Clarkson, Randle who need the ball, and can handle the ball.

So all this aggressiveness is fine. But one has the luxury to be that, and one doesn't.

And even with all of that, the results are basically the same.

But instead we talking about eyebrows, and how he goes about his time.

Beginning today...no more trolling. Just straight room temperature takes. Come on guys, join me.

The Clippers will have a tough time winning at Golden State. Curry vs Paul, Draymond vs Blake, and DJ vs Bogut (is he playing) will all be fun matchups to watch.

I got a feeling CP gonna put the clamps on Curry tonight.

Also.. does DLo ever drive the ball to the basket or does he just shoot midrange jumpers and 3s

Nba thread doesn't eem seem to be that bad. Just tends to go off topic. At least most everyone gets along. iirc the NBA thread was a much harsher environment years ago

Mudiay just looked better overall so far in the few games they played ...it's too early and the hot takes n jokes are fun but you can't say that Russell has showed much in terms of star potential or even justifying being the 2nd pick so far , he still can't even get in the paint , turn the corner , or get his on shot off without a pick
