Jordan never suffered the devastating injuries Kobe did at such a late point in his career

You just can't defeat father time nor injuries

It's not really as easy as saying "Kobe could play closer to the basket"

Sounds like Gerald Green is okay, but the fact that they are still whispering about this doesn't seem so bueno. Good thing he is healthy tho

I agree. Mike played much closer to the basket the older he got. I think Kobe could still be effective if he did the same thing. Scott needs to have Kobe work off the ball on the baseline and at the elbow. His days of destroying dudes on isos are over.
Kobe Can't play closer to the basket that's the difference. He's trying to. Kobe been playing out the post for the past half decade basically, it's just now due to age, injuries, etc. he's literally not physically capable of consistently getting good positioning for post up opportunities. So as a result, when he catches it it's an iso at the 3 point line.

Okafor has been so damn impressive so far. Looks like he belongs out there, handling double teams, playing his game.

I know there's still the argument that his style of play isn't what you build around these days, but whatever.. you find a way with his kind of talent. Between him and Noel, they should be good.

Okafor's ability to dribble/pass out of a double team is advanced for his age

only a week into the season but this draft class is making an immediate impact

lowkey plays like he's been playing in the league for years already. KAT too.

D.Lo plays like he started hooping on Tuesday and the only background hoops history he knows is scenes from basketball diaries

We're saying the same thing. Scott needs to get Kobe off the ball and moving on the baseline where he can catch and attack quickly.

I think Okafor is gonna be a monster. This wide open up and down play is great, but having a big guy to dump it down to who can go to work down there is a lost art.

Kobe and attack quickly will never again be used in the same sentence describing his play. You have to accept that. Recovering from those injuries is a hell of a thing, especially if you have as much mileage as Bryant does

You watch Kobe and you should notice he has NO moves whatsoever anymore. No more between the legs, crossovers, anything. It's either a catch and shoot or multiple pump fakes into a jump shot.

Depressing.

4 games into his pro career and dude is already being doubled

Dude averaged 43 ppg over an entire month at one point. no exaggeration

Very difficult to watch him now.

He said he would leave before he fell off :frown:

I can't imagine Kobe's ego lets him retire mid-season.

I know it might be just as bad to play on a bad team, putting up the worst numbers of your career, but I would be shocked if he retires before the end of the season.
