Drummond even heavier than Dwight yet just as good an athlete. Actually he might even be lighter on his feet, the up fake into a drop step into a dunk against Portland was some good stuff

Drummond is already better than Dwight.

The only thing is Dwight had special bounce for his size , Drummond ain't on that level as far as jumping

Crazy that this draft looks so much better so far than last years draft. Last years was supposed to be the all time one

Last year's was top heavy.

3 franchise player caliber prospects going top 3. The jury is still out on that one.. Wiggins will be awesome, Jabari is just getting started, and who knows if we'll ever see Embiid play.

No.

Don't let an awesome stretch of play by Andre fool you, prime Dwight was one of the best defenders of the last decade and one of the few players who could make your team elite on his own. I'm as big of a Drummond fan as anyone on here, been down since the draft.. but he's not there yet.

Nah Drummond ain't better than Dwight yet but I think he's lighter on his feet, more agile/fluid I guess is what I'm trying to say. Helps with chaining moves together.

Dwight was a transcendent defender in his prime. If he'd stayed healthy, he would have won two or three more DPOY awards.

People are so quick to hop on the next big thing. laugh.gif

No, Drummond is not better than prime Dwight right now. Current Dwight, yes. Sometimes its okay to enjoy the development of a player before trying to make him the best player ever laugh.gif . He very well may end up being much better than prime Dwight, but its too soon.

I think Dwight Howard dissing the Lakers has really hurt his reputation on here because we have so many Lakers fans on this site.

It's like y'all forget prime Dwigt was averaging 23 & 15 leading an elite team with few perimeter defenders to 50+ wins when the top half of the East was actually good laugh.gif.

Drummond is more fluid, and less robotic..but prime Dwight was just as effective. Dwight used to change directions from defense to offense within seconds of a stop. Then a quick rim run deep post up for a dunk.

There was a time wen it was Kobe, LeBron and Dwight as the 3 clear best players in the game. That's how good he was.

Ehh. Plenty of non-Lakers fans hate him or have a dislike of him. On and off here

He went from universally loved to mostly hated. For many reasons that are not limited to the Lakers.

Problem is that hate has bled into the perception of him as a player. You just can't deny what he's done in his career, and is STILL doing. He had 20/20 vs DJ just 2 days ago laugh.gif

A lot of the Dwight perception is fueled by TNT (Shaq & Chuck), Kobe & Lakers fan, Dwight being downright corny, and bandwagon perception. Regardless of why you hate him, you can't deny his talent and accomplishments.

The legitimate reasons to dislike Dwight... how he handled his exit out of Orlando.

Either demand a trade or play out your contract, don't half *** it like he did. Although it did give us that clip of him and SVG which is top ten all-time.

The dumb reasons to hate Dwight.. his joking and relaxed attitude. He was that same goofy, corny guy when he was anchoring Orlando's defense and throwing shots into the stands and winning DPOYs. Just because he smiled a lot didn't make him less of a player.. not everyone is going to have the Kobe scowl 24/7. People hated on him because he wasn't Shaq or for not backing guys down with his chicken legs or learning how to shoot when he doesn't have that natural touch. If you accepted Dwight for what he was, he was a hell of a player in his prime and a fan favorite before his FA shenanigans.

You could not like him, but let's not forget how dominant he was.

I don't think anyone was talking about Drummond vs. prime Dwight, that's crazy  :lol

I believe it was this season

I was just talking about Drummond being a giant with some real solid footwork laugh.gif

Like dude said Dwight did have that extra bounce and ran the floor really well but when you realize Drummond probably got an extra 40 lbs and still has that type of athletic ability that he's working with its really impressive.

Dwight feasted on the East and a softer schedule.  Also played in a uptempo system with 4 shooters.  Padded his stats.  When  he went to the Lakers and Rockets, he's washed all of a sudden.
With that said, prime Dwight was still better than Drummond.
dwight started to be injury prone, that had a lot to do with his decline
he still showed in the portland series a couple yrs ago that he could be dominant
