I was hammered for the gold medal game last olympics... **** was on at like 8AM

got mcdonalds breakfast too haha

I remember rolling outta bed for it. Real hungover. And then wanting to throw **** at the TV because they couldn't stop Marc Gasol lol.

And, yes, I know Gasol was in foul trouble, but when he came back, they let him do his thing. So frustrating.

Wonder what all the "giannis is not that good" folks will have to say when he's playing in the all star game in February.

Steph definitely benefits from the GS system. Or does the GS system benefit from him?

Cavs deadass drafted Bennett over Nerlens Noel

I think Nerlens Noel dropping in the draft was the best thing that could have happened to him. He took it personally, and he's been on a mission to prove everyone wrong. He's not a franchise player, or someone who will turn a team around on his own, but teamed with a guy like Okafor, all he has to do is block shots and crash the boards. I think that's a great tandem for the future. We'll see how the rest of it plays out though.

Pretty much.

You've got to be delusional to think otherwise.

LeBron hasn't regressed in the sense that he's not as good at basketball. He's just smarter. The regular season just doesn't matter anymore to him. He knows the Cavs don't need to win 60+ games. It's the Eastern Conference. All they have to do is coast to 55 wins, which will land them the second seed, and they can dominate in the playoffs. LeBron doesn't need home court through the playoffs.

bit of both. more of the latter. steph plays a really fast game. but a game that typical relies on pnr and single coverage. same type of kyrie situation. needs space to create off the handle. he usually gets single coverage because you can't double off klay or draymond. if you could, its a lot harder to do fancy crossovers through 4 hands than 2 hands. so the system and personnel help him.

on the flip side, he aids the system greatly by being able to do literally everything. elite passer, ball handles, shooter, scorer, and his on ball defense and passing lane instinct is decent too. he needs just .003 to get a shot off, which really helps with the sus picks the warriors set. its why they get away with so many moving screens. he breaks defenses down off the dribble and finds the open man or the cutter. takes and makes all of the big shots. can literally miss 4-5 straight then rattle of 15 points in 2 minutes. makes his freethrows. shows up in clutch moments. and stomachs the stress of key possessions.

regular season right?

i cant sense the sarcasm......how can people say that after the finals last year? the only knock was lebrons shooting percentage. if you're the clear cut best you should get the mvp and the finals mvp.

bron hasn't regressed? so he's as good as he was in miami?

He's a different player. Yeah, he's not the athletic freak he was in when he got to Miami in 2010, and he's never going to match his averages from that era. But he's not a worse basketball player because of it. He's perfectly content to win 55 games then turn it up for the playoffs and make the Finals. Which is what the Cavs are going to do. LeBron is still that good, and you can't say that about anyone else in the league.

Curry should've gotten the Finals MVP. He was getting double teamed as soon as he crossed half court, and generally made all the right passes out the double team. Still averaged 26 6 6 if I remember correctly

Don't go down this road, because I'll piss off every Kobe fan in this forum by making the case for Pau Gasol deserving MVP in 2010. Which Pau should have won, btw.

i guess thats why people are discussing about the system/team and steph on whose benefiting from whom, which goes both ways IMO. they got dudes that could make a play when currys doubled as opposed to the cavs last year.

I hate this argument.

So Steph's greatness is slightly diminished because he has very good players around him?

If that's the case then LBJ's greatness is fraudulent
So is Westbrook and KD's...

Curry has not played with a legitimate great player yet like his aforementioned peers. He's one of the first players who literally makes his teammates better as soon as he's on the court. Because of the ridiculous attention he commands players get open shots and look greater than they are if they were on different teams.

Also this whole Steph is a system player bs narrative needs to be fanned out. Steph was showing glimpses of this play during the Mark Jackson era and in college.

People have to start reading the SNs before they respond to other posters

To say stephs a system player is ridiculous because I don't think so and it's not just under mark jackson, he has shown that at Davidson already. The point I'm trying to get across is people will have that discussion because of how great that team is and not necessarily how great each individual players are - ie the mavs have shown that in the 2010 playoffs even tho dirk went bat **** but it was still largely considered a "team" effort. to say he immediately make u better is an overstatement, why didn't he work with monte? Ya he was younger less polished and riddled with injuries but the time they were on together? The team had 2 legitimate MIP players candidate last year on the squad under a new coach and everything clicked. Now they're fueled by all the doubters in the off season and we ll c how far they can take this.

Can we talk about Anthony Bennett?

Seriously forgot he was in the league and I just saw him play yesterday. At least kwame was a punchline. Bennett is an afterthought

I feel you but wade butler and Beal are just as good right now and have seniority over him. Next year he should be a lock
