Yall's arguments around a players DNA is dumb as hell too considering we're talking about guys who have flourished in various other systems.

You get guys coming to the Rockets doing uncharacteristic things. Guys DNA change from team to team? Or is it Harden/Dwight imposing his DNA across the rest of their teammates (pause) laugh.gif

So Zaza playing well is because of the coach? laugh.gif.

Zaza has always been a Center that can produce when given minutes. His per 36 #'s this year are right in line with his career. He just playing more minutes, and in a bigger role out of necessity.

Zaza is doing exactly what he's paid for, and has done his whole career.

His coaching and system are what drive him to do that consistently. You have to be schematically put in a place to succeed consistently. Simple simple concepts

im legitimately done though. Cats are lost. Show of hands who have actually coached or been coached past YMCA ball....

For the Rockets, it's been 3 long hard years and lots of watching games. Nothing new. We were singing this tune through success and failure. Don't try to deflect because y'all aren't really watching the games to the detail needed.

damnit, I said I was done

coach is the reason players play hard or don't play hard? k.

so if you dont like your boss, you just gonna do whatever you want at work huh? show up late? piss in garbage cans? half-*** the work? cool.

Lakers tho...

but one last thing....it doesn't even seem the slight bit interesting to you cats that Rick Carlisle stays competitive REGARDLESS of who's on his roster?

or that Pop has a random guy emerge every year in some way? Guys who have played on other teams and gotten mins but are less productive?

None of that even seems....interesting? laugh.gif

Do yall think a level past that or look at them and say "they got some good DNA"?

when your boss is telling everybody to do things that fundamentally don't fit their skillsets or make sense....

it's called morale. goes hand-in-hand with playing hard or not.

Yall aren't the least bit....interested...in the fact that the Rox shoot the most 3s in teh NBA and don't have any wet 3 point shooters? for like the last 3 years laugh.gif.

Does DNA make guys who normally don't shoot 3s put up shots at an astronomical rate because they switched cities?

Pop and Carslisle are two of the best coaches in the NBA.

Those guys don't grow on trees man. Idk why you keep trying to compare Pop and McHale. Can the rockets be better with a better coach, well duh. Absolutely.

Were the Rockets struggling thru "3 long hard years" because of McHale? Nope. It's really simple.

You don't have to be Pop or Carlisle to simply succeed at a few things they do well. Yall are really lazy in analysis

I gotta 1-off these comments because guys aren't getting the big picture. arguing in circles. eh, we'll let time tell the story

Don't know why people are debating the McHale firing so hard. Even if you don't think the Rockets roster is good enough to win a title, 4-7 with several blow-out losses was unacceptable for that team and something clearly needed to change. Firing a coach is the fastest and easiest way to shake things up. Just how it is.

QFT.  Boston game was the final straw.  Went from up 17 to down by 29.  McHale had to go.  Likely more changes coming.

My 2cents,

OKC won't win it all. Will definitely not win it at all if Lebron is in the Finals.

They have NOBODY to hold Lebron.

Durant can't hold Lebron and yet, still score on the other side.

Westbrook, no.. Waiters? no. Roberson? no. Ibaka? no.

To win in the finals, you need that ONE premier elite on-ball defender to hold the best player on the other team.

I get what you've been trying to say, but I just have to tell you you're flat out wrong. I've easily watched 70+ Rockets games a season for yeeears, and can tell you EXACTLY how things have gone on here, both good and bad. McHale's not at all 100% of the blame, as I've constantly questioned simple effort (especially with this season so far), but I can tell you regardless of upset wins, convincing wins, or embarrassing losses, McHale was gonna be a glass ceiling over this team. You can't reach the ultimate goal of a title without a coach that can actually draw up real life plays. We gonna forget Jeremy Lin was drawing up plays several times here with McHale standing right there? I'm embarrassed that people even have the sentiments they do about McHale. I haven't watched a bunch of MDA, Scott Brooks, or Byron Scott games, but I'm also not totally clueless about their coaching styles like an alarming # of people in this thread are. Barely making adjustments, being out coached, burying younger players to the bench for lengthy periods after even the most minute mistakes, and even keeping players in games that clearly should be pulled are staples of McHale's coaching, regardless of who is on the roster. Those are facts that well-informed Rockets fans know and general common sense having NBA fans should also know. Facts, not highlights from vine, and not surface box scores. There's nothing else you or anyone else with the same sentiments can say about that, cause like before, it would still be incorrect.

Put Collison on Lebron and the thunder win

Unless the coach is great (Popovich, Carlise) or actively harmful (Scott, Shaw) I feel like most coaches won't effect games during the regular season. However, that stuff comes to light in the playoffs where every little thing matters.

btw, i only keep using Pop and Carlisle because those are two coaches whose teams have been on TV a lot. There are definitely others. Who succeed in things McHale fail at. (and fail at what McHale succeeds at) Like I said before, you don't have to have coaches as great as they are to simply use some of the things they do.

does Budenholzer ring a 'coach not as good as Pop but borrows from Pop' bell ?
