I remember I almost cried when I saw that video of Towns draining 3's in practice before the draft.
I think how well he stretches the floor will be the biggest difference maker between him and Porzingis.
Even if he never becomes a legit stretch big, I'd still pick him over Porzingis if we could swap players. And that's coming from someone who was high on Kristaps from the jump.. but KAT is the superior prospect.
This is definitely part of it, but the kid has played scared for the most part out there and the deficiencies and red flags that a lot of scouts and just people had about him on court have all been on full display early on (slow, lack of athleticism) and almost none of the positives (dead eye shooting, crazy vision, confidence). Combine that with the seemingly nonchalant demeanor out there on the court, he's not exactly endured himself so far.
