why would byron scott get fired.

why would he get fired. you cant really say the lakers are under performing . this is what was expected so im wondering why he would get fired.

He should have never been extended in the first place

This. Reminds me of when the Texans extended Schaub and Kubiak a couple years ago, it was very reactionary.

Houston needs to place a call to Mike D'Antoni

Yea, let's bring in a non-defensive coach with a team having trouble with defense. Scores 125, gives up 130. Unless you're just saying that to screw over the Rockets.

This firing was a long time coming regardless of the WCF. Only uninformed fans are pulling the "McHale was done wrong" card. Those are the fans NBA fans who have seen the Rockets play twice a year for the last 4-5 years. They never consistently saw an excellent interviewer and commentator that as a coach, was badly out coached more often than not, with the talent keying wins, they never saw the adjustments that weren't being made, only making changes through pure desperation, and the team coming out flat as if they had never played organized ball in their lives. McHale stinks at the x's and o's portion of the game, making this team play pickup ball constantly. Meanwhile, even the Bobcats are running an actual offense. This was dead on like Kubiak coaching the Texans, and if you followed either one closely, you'd know this move at to be made. Not giving McHale 100% blame, cause he's not on the court, but he's a good portion of it. It's embarrassing to look like this after being in the WCF.

Byron Scott next? lol :nerd:

Byron Scott won't be fired during the season. He's a "Laker Boy."

He'll get canned in the offseason though, I believe.

Byron Scott won't get fired. He is fulfilling his duties ensuring the future of the Lakers is in good hands. His priority is to ensure the Lakers bottom out and keep their pick from getting to Philly's hands. He is also running Kobe to the ground ensuring he retires after this season. lol

Whether he knows it or not, his "man up" philosophy is doing the Lakers good.

And yes, the moment the Lakers play their last regular season game, he will get fired.

Byron won't get fired during the season unless it gets historically bad, but he's the worst coach in the league and Mitch himself said they should be competing for the playoffs.

Well he's a horrible coach, and his archaic views on basketball have already cost the Lakers about two to three extra wins on the season.

He also has no grasp on how to use the #2 overall pick. Then you factor in the fact that he said LAL would be a playoff team this year, it's certainly not out of the question for him to get canned this offseason.

Funny that most the guys I hear defending McHale are people who don't watch Rockets on a nightly basis. Everybody who does, complete opposite. Folks taking general sentiments, glittering generalities and peripheral views to defend this guy

Dude been a big issue since Portland in the playoffs. He does things well, but not the things this team needs to sustain or take it to the next level.

Well there is something to be said about how bad Philly has been defensively with Okafor. Him and Randle in the front court would be terrible defensively. However I am of the school of thought that believes that you can build a league average defense with Okafor if you play it right.

Plus at the time of the draft, LAL were prepping for Lamarcus too.

I don't think anyone is saying McHale is a coaching mastermind but he's had the most progress with the squad in a long time and the players seemed to enjoy playing for him.

Now I can understand the counterpoint of his lack of adjustments being crippling so it sounds like a Mark Jackson situation. Players coach and they all love him but he can't actually coach them through situations but in this case the problem extends past McHale. Some of these guys just haven't shown up yet.
