 at McHale getting fired when going 4-7 to start the season.

Either Daryl Morey and the rest of the front office didn't like Kevin Mchale to begin with his philosophies.

There is no way a coach is 4-7 and gets fired 11 games into the season. That's ludicrous. They overcame a 3-1 deficit and made it to the WCF the prior year. Something that isn't known to us, had probably went on. It may come to the light sooner or later.

You're like 30 pages late, but let me save you the time:

He should have never been extended in the first place

This. Reminds me of when the Texans extended Schaub and Kubiak a couple years ago, it was very reactionary.

Houston needs to place a call to Mike D'Antoni

Yea, let's bring in a non-defensive coach with a team having trouble with defense. Scores 125, gives up 130. Unless you're just saying that to screw over the Rockets.

This firing was a long time coming regardless of the WCF. Only uninformed fans are pulling the "McHale was done wrong" card. Those are the fans NBA fans who have seen the Rockets play twice a year for the last 4-5 years. They never consistently saw an excellent interviewer and commentator that as a coach, was badly out coached more often than not, with the talent keying wins, they never saw the adjustments that weren't being made, only making changes through pure desperation, and the team coming out flat as if they had never played organized ball in their lives. McHale stinks at the x's and o's portion of the game, making this team play pickup ball constantly. Meanwhile, even the Bobcats are running an actual offense. This was dead on like Kubiak coaching the Texans, and if you followed either one closely, you'd know this move at to be made. Not giving McHale 100% blame, cause he's not on the court, but he's a good portion of it. It's embarrassing to look like this after being in the WCF.

Looking forward to seeing McHale flourish in Minny in the future while Houston struggles

You do realize he struggled in Minny before coming to Houston right? Unless you're talking as a GM, which would still be :rolleyes. Instead of Harden 21 second ISO and kicking it to Beverley, it would be Wiggins ISO and kicking it to Lavine

It's painfully clear who actually watched these games over the years and who are hitching their ride to to reactionary sentiments. I haven't seen/heard Charles Barkley yet, but I'm sure he has the same uninformed sentiment as a lot of other people on here. This is Jeremy Lin all over again, where Rockets/Knicks/Laker fans actually described what happened on the court, while everybody else inexplicably spoke of what they thought happened and watched 1 or 2 vines.

but one last thing....it doesn't even seem the slight bit interesting to you cats that Rick Carlisle stays competitive REGARDLESS of who's on his roster?

or that Pop has a random guy emerge every year in some way? Guys who have played on other teams and gotten mins but are less productive?

None of that even seems....interesting?

Do yall think a level past that or look at them and say "they got some good DNA"?

Pop and Carslisle are two of the best coaches in the NBA.

Those guys don't grow on trees man. Idk why you keep trying to compare Pop and McHale. Can the rockets be better with a better coach, well duh. Absolutely.

Were the Rockets struggling thru "3 long hard years" because of McHale? Nope. It's really simple.

I get what you've been trying to say, but I just have to tell you you're flat out wrong. I've easily watched 70+ Rockets games a season for yeeears, and can tell you EXACTLY how things have gone on here, both good and bad. McHale's not at all 100% of the blame, as I've constantly questioned simple effort (especially with this season so far), but I can tell you regardless of upset wins, convincing wins, or embarrassing losses, McHale was gonna be a glass ceiling over this team. You can't reach the ultimate goal of a title without a coach that can actually draw up real life plays. We gonna forget Jeremy Lin was drawing up plays several times here with McHale standing right there? I'm embarrassed that people even have the sentiments they do about McHale. I haven't watched a bunch of MDA, Scott Brooks, or Byron Scott games, but I'm also not totally clueless about their coaching styles like an alarming # of people in this thread are. Barely making adjustments, being out coached, burying younger players to the bench for lengthy periods after even the most minute mistakes, and even keeping players in games that clearly should be pulled are staples of McHale's coaching, regardless of who is on the roster. Those are facts that well-informed Rockets fans know and general common sense having NBA fans should also know. Facts, not highlights from vine, and not surface box scores. There's nothing else you or anyone else with the same sentiments can say about that, cause like before, it would still be incorrect.

Hopefully that helped.

Magic straight up robbed Fournier from the Nuggets

Team does have a habit of trading away good pieces but they did end up Will Barton who is playing well.

Fourier played in the playoffs as a rookie for George Karl who hates young players.

Fournier and CJ are gonna fight it out all year for that MIP award...

I think Fournier gets it. Will Barton has been balling too though. If the Nuggets win at a decent clip, and get some attention, he'll be in the running. 15ppg & 5rpg on 48/44/88 splits.

So the rankings for MIP go as....

1. Evan Fournier
2. CJ
3. Beal
4. Will Barton

I think this award & rookie of the year are the most interesting awards this year

Thank goodness for the Philadelphia 76ers. Courtside seats for under 200$. Sam Hinkie the gawd.

Damn, that's so cheap I'm tempted to fly back East just to sit court side at a Sixers game. Could use frequent flyer miles to get there too.
