The funny part is, I don't think anyone has said that. At least, I don't think so. There was a lot of posts to go through today. Lol.

Every once in a while Seaman wants to be taken seriously but the thing is you spend 99% of the time trolling and calling great players washed, losers, and bums. You never miss a chance to **** on LeBron or Chris Paul. Someone states their opinion about Kobe and you wanna serious and take personal shots laugh.gif

And who made the backup account to cosign you? roll.gif

So wait who is trying to boost their ego here? laugh.gif

I think I understand; every time you call Chris Paul a loser, you feel a little better about your own existence...so who am I to take that away from you?

*shrugs*

i understand why you would think this way, but I'm not you

I don't take my self anywhere near as serious as you do

I understand how to have an actual conversation with people

I understand what a joke is and dont have a stick up my ***

I dont spend every post trying to drop pseudo-knowledge on these "uneducated basketball fans"

take a breath, grab a beer and enjoy the banter in here for once. life sucks if you take everything so seriously

Experience is not irrelevant, but don't let your desire to defend Kobe's place in history delude yourself into thinking that it's only way to understand anything.

Marketing homie....marketing.

If you wanna talk about on court success though.....

Kobe is sponsored by Nike and plays for the Los Angeles Lakers that a large reason why youve heard about him so much but that doesnt mean he's a better player than Duncan.

Not just the past three seasons though, i'm talking about their ENTIRE careers. Duncan has won more than Kobe in their respective careers.

your straw man arguments are making you look foolish.

it doesnt matter that byron scott is the worst coach in basketball, if he thinks that john stockton was a better player than gary payton from personal experience then that's all there is to it. your spreadsheets dont mean anything, your 45 degree angles dont mean anything, your true shooting % doesnt mean anything. If the people who have actually put in the work in life to step on a basketball court think a player is the best then that's all that matters. i'm sorry but all your pride in what you know is worthless, it wont change the experiences of people who have actually faced these all time greats.

No it's not actually a strawman it's the essential crux of the argument. Having an experience vs being able to put that experience into context. The experience is worthless if you can't understand how it applys to the question.

being good enough to play in the NBA is not the same as having the mental equity to accurately gauge the value of anecdotal experience vs all the other available evidence and accuatley ***** the value of a player.

Steve Jobs had no experience as a programmer, no experience as engineer, but he had an ability to understand and apply these disprate concepts towards solving a problem. Ultimatley all the experience in the world isn't going to make the Iphone.

....

I really can't belive I'm explaining this.

having the experience IS the context. the effects of an action are best measured by those who are experiencing said actions, not someone sitting at home watching tv. sorry you're not that important.

your second sentence is literally a string of buzz words put together in a sorry attempt to make a point, but in the end totally meaningless and empty. If your whole gimmick is to try and sound smart at least spell it "applies" instead of "applys" you're ruining the only think you have going for you.

in that metaphor, steve jobs is the coach with the vision, the solving of the problem is the end goal and the engineers are the players. Yes, if we are talking about who knows the best way to solve a problem then of course the coach's opinion is better than the players. but we are talking about who is the best engineer, and there is no better judge of that than the peers he/she is working with every day.

this is fun, give me your next shallow argument and I'll break it down for you

Sure he's won more games, but they have the same number of chips and the production is in Bean's favor even with basically having 2 seasons off.

What production is better? Kobe scored more points.

Duncan has more NBA MVPs and NBA Finals MVPs, more championships as the main superstar.

So you're saying Vancouver over Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa?

That's beyond riduclous.

Some Canadians try to hype up Vancouver like its the Canadian version of LA but I've always felt over slightly better than Calgary in terms of entertainment and nightlife.

Toronto smashes Vancouver in terms of entertainment and nightlife and promixity of being able to drive to the States.

Vancouver is a little bit prettier in the summertime though but most of Canada's weather sucks.
