I think Okafor will be just fine. He has a good skill set and he's still super young.

However, those of you thinking he should get a pass on this type of behavior because he's 19, need a reality check. This is the real world and he gets paid the big bucks for a reason. Going out, getting piss drunk, letting some peons heckle you, screaming "money", and then fighting is not included in that. The 76ers should suspend him or he should be hit with a fine or both, but that whole organization is a train wreck. I hope he turns it around quick because like someone said earlier, theres plenty of guys in the d-league who would kill for the position he is in.

The he's 19 thing is a cop out because this isn't the first time in his life he has faced hecklers. He's losing and it's getting to him, so he's acting out.

I'll give Okafor a pass, not because he's young, but because we've all made mistakes.

God knows I've done lots of stupid **** when I was drunk, and I was older than Okafor.

However, we need to learn from our mistakes too. So we'll have to wait and see if he does.

He got no buffer or leeway though. These first impressions of him won‘t do him any good. He‘s knee high tainted. Got off on thr wrong foot.

Jah 2-0 in da streets.

For real tho.. 6ers should suspend him or something.

Funny that ty lawson was talking about 19 year old Beasley losing his mind in miami. This is like the opposite end of that

Him being 19 is relevant because he's immature. Like most of us at that age. Only difference is he's in the spotlight and any blip he has will be a headline due to his celebrity.

Byron Scott says Lakers will live or die by Kobe Bryant's shooting

Quote:

“Yeah, there’s going to be some games like that that you’re just going to live and die with it,” Lakers coach Byron Scott said of Bryant’s shooting. “You just hope that you don’t die too much. You hope that you can live a little bit more. Yeah, there’s going to be some nights like that.”

laugh.gif The only thing that matters is that he stays healthy. He'll be an elite offensive big by year 3. This is all a bunch of nothing.

He's 19. If he's in his early/mid-20's doing this same ****, then get back to me.

I'll chalk a lot of this up to immaturity and having too much money too soon.

Agree with this generally. But I also don't think you can compare a number 3 pick in the NBA draft who is making millions of dollars to the average 19 year old. That guy has much more at stake than most dumb-*** college kids. He has a limited window of time to get the most out of his abilities. Provides extra incentive to have things under control. And I'm not saying he shouldn't go out and enjoy himself sometimes - he should - but there's a way to do that without getting in trouble and putting yourself at risk. He needs to figure that out. Getting a better support system around himself would probably help.

Writing the kid off already definitely would be an overreaction, but acting like there's no cause for concern is also a mistake, IMO. He probably will be fine, but he probably needs to rethink some of his behaviors to get there.

I completely agree with this. I just don't think that his age should be an excuse. There are plenty of 19 year olds that come through the league, and you never hear about anything of this nature, let alone multiple incidents within a month. Reminds me of some Aldon Smith type ****.

And lets all be honest... he didn't hire a "security guard", his agent hired a babysitter for him.

Kobe wants to work in the organization post retirement. Also NBA team ownership is a possibility.

The first 3 I'll chalk up as immaturity, the last 2 not so much. At that point your life and rep is at stake.

Despite Freeze's concerns the guys is just going to disappear, I'm pretty sure Kobe is going to remain around the NBA after he retires in one capacity or another. He's crazy competitive and loves the spotlight. Coaching wouldn't be right for him, so management or ownership makes sense.

Could definitely see him guesting on the TNT broadcasts occasionally too.

DLo - Lou - Kobe - Nick Young - Bass

He used this lineup for 8 gametime minutes eek.gif

Alright.. I said earlier Bryon and SMitch were neck and neck. I take that back.

I phlucks with Byron. That unwavering loyalty. My dude. smokin.gif. Laker blood runs deep. You don't kick family when they're down, especially when you know they'll be gone soon. Just roll with it, show love and keep the bridges in tact.

Lakers tho...

at 19. you shouldnt really be doing something like that. you should be playing video games or hitting up eateries or studying film or working out.
Byron is going all-in on the evolution of the NBA, in the stupidest way possible:

The league's best offenses are built around three pointers? Let's let Kobe shoot as many threes as he can.

The league is getting smaller? Let's play Bass at center and now move Kobe to power forward.

Like, what?!?!? laugh.gif

Smitch has that TWolf squad playing at least. He just trolls and purposely loses winnable games.

Byron has that Laker squad in shambles. Swaggy P is being forced to be the voice of reason. Squad is flawed but they have talent.

Nick is the only one with balls to say anything in that organization.
