Where is @LiCeNseD To BaLL to take more shots at you for saying Wes was elite from the corners.

@LiCeNseD To BaLL is probably to busy angry tweeting and posting about Byron Scott to pay Wes Johnson any attention

Context laugh.gif. I didn't even know he was back in the rotation after being out of it on a team with a gaping hole at his position.

Lol Context is exactly right. If he wasn't an elite shooter from the corners in LAL for 2 years, then the claim would have been premature. But he's basically been very good from those spots his entire career.

Anyway, just throwing that out there. Enjoy your day guise.

Well, my thought was that what he did well on the Lakers, would be exacerbated on a team like LAC who has much better players, which would allow him to get more clean looks to do what he does best, which is slash, and shoot 3's (especially corner 3's) without having to dribble and create.

The 3-17 Los Angeles Lakers hit a new low on Sunday when they were blown out by the Detroit Pistons in a loss that was much worse than the eventual 111-91 final score. Byron Scott's response: bench the two players Lakers fans are most excited to watch.

D'Angelo Russell and Julius Randle, the franchise's last two first-round picks, will make way for veteran Lou Williams and rookie Larry Nance Jr. when the Lakers face the Raptors on Monday.

Scott said the move was to give the starting unit more "energy" and will last for at least 5-10 games. He added that this wasn't due to Russell and Randle's respective individual performances, but rather their fit alongside the other starters.

Byron Scott: "This change wasn't so much based on them not performing up to their capability, it's based on where we are as a team."
— Serena Winters (@SerenaWinters) December 7, 2015

Byron: "I’ve got to find five pieces at a time that can work and that can work well together. That wasn’t working so far as the first unit."
— Baxter Holmes (@BaxterHolmes) December 7, 2015

Nevertheless, the two young cornerstones are baffled.

Julius Randle says this is the first time he’s ever been benched in a non-preseason game dating back to his childhood: "It is what it is."
— Baxter Holmes (@BaxterHolmes) December 7, 2015

Russell: "Everybody has a story at the end of the day as far as what they’ve been through...Hopefully I can look back at this and laugh."
— Baxter Holmes (@BaxterHolmes) December 7, 2015

D'Angelo: "I was starting to figure it out and then this happened....I've never been in the (back-up) position."
— Mike Bresnahan (@Mike_Bresnahan) December 7, 2015

Julius on demotion: "You're never going to be thrilled about it as a competitor....I don't know, man. It's not my decision."
— Mike Bresnahan (@Mike_Bresnahan) December 7, 2015

Kobe Bryant, meanwhile, will start despite recovering from a stomach flu that he admitted would keep him sidelined if it wasn't his last season.

Kobe on suiting up tonight: "If it wasn't my last season, I probably wouldn’t have played."
— Mike Bresnahan (@Mike_Bresnahan) December 7, 2015

Lakers fans are understandably livid that their two beacons of long-term hope have been demoted.

It's been time to fire Byron for this D'Angelo stuff. It's getting worse. https://t.co/JUAuu7TenO pic.twitter.com/0CpUNir6aw

Is Byron the worst coach in the history or organized competition? We’re talking middle school chess teams here, too.

Randle's posted double-doubles in four of his last five games, including a 19-rebound performance in a victory over the Wizards. Russell's play has been uneven, but he's also scored in double figures in four of his last five games.

Last 4 games. D'Angelo Russell: 13-5-4 on 42% Julius Randle: 13-12-1 on 42% Kobe Bryant: 18-3-3 on 27% DO YOU, BYRON. DO YOU.
— Justin Russo (@FlyByKnite) December 7, 2015

They are far from the solution to the Lakers' poor play, but they are also far from the problem. In a season that's lost anyway, why not let them play?

Unclear. There's one report saying the Clippers made some exploratory calls about trading either of them. The guy who made the report asked an NBA executive whether Josh or Lance had any trade value, he said very little and if the Clips really want to get rid of them, may have to buy them out. So, that's where that came from, as far as I can tell.

But who knows. Doc gonna Doc. Its kind of his thing to bring in new guys, not put them in a position to succeed as coach, and then quickly give up on them. See Jared Dudley, Spencer Hawes, etc.

Lance would kill on the Spurs

Doc hated sterling but now buddies with Balmer, so it makes no sense to say he hasn‘t had a hand in making personnel changes. Wait, unless its his own son.

The Lakers are on a low key fundraiser awareness type campaign now. For people who do watch the Lakers, DeAngel IS nothing special. None whatsoever. Toad Pecco has put up stats, but he is really wild and selfish. His stats are no problem, but he does not play with in the offense, well in fact no one does. Don‘t be mislead by the stats. The benching was warranted and made thr most sense because those two guys have rather low EQ. As rookies, you should just shut up and work hard. If you‘re on the bench keep your eyes on the floor, not sulk and complain. Good for those primma donna type dudes.

The Lakers are a shipwreck and undoubtly a circus.

Tony Allen and Courtney Lee for Lance Stephenson and Josh Smith.

Doc gets one of his old players back in Tony Allen. TA's time in Memphis is up. He only played 8 minutes total against Phoenix and has been playing poorly this year. Lee provides a little 3-D assistance and will probably fit a lot better in the Clipper system than the Grizz. Lance will have the opportunity to play in a similar system he played in when in Indiana. It also helps Conley out as a ball handler. Josh Smith adds a little more athleticism up front and he was one of Chris Wallace targets back in 2008 or 2009 when he was free agent. I'm sure he still loves him as a player.

Conley / Chalmers
Stephenson / Adams
Jeff Green / Barnes
Zbo / Smith / Jam Green
Gasol / Wright

Saying all this, the Grizz are not going to give up Tony Allen laugh.gif . As bad as he's playing, Memphis is pretty much stuck with him. However, I'll rather take a chance on a young player like Stephenson and give him the opportunity to turn back to his Indiana self, while allowing Smith to provide a different type of forward for us up front.
