Derrick Rose has held opposing teams' starting point guards below their average points.

  • Mudiay Wednesday: 2-13 for 4 points

Tony Parker: 6-12 for 13 points

  • George Hill: 3-8 for 6 points (Monta Ellis did have 20 as sort of a point guard in the Bulls win on 9-20 the other game when Hill was hurt)
  • Damian Lillard: 4-22 for 19 points
  • Kemba Walker: 6-12 for 13 points and 5-18 for 13 points.
  • Westbrook: 7-18 for 20 points
  • Shane Larkin, Brooklyn: 3-8 for 6 points.
  • Elfrid Payton: 2-7 for 4 points
  • Mo Williams: 7-15 for 19 points
  • Ricky Rubio: 2-10 for 7 points
  • Someone named McConnell from the 76ers: 3-8 for 6 points
  • Reggie Jackson: 9-24 for 22 points.

D. Rose for defensive player of the year

kobe stans
Lol, here goes the name calling

You really calling me a Kobe stan? Of all players, Kobe. Don't know why you're getting so emotional over this
I'm not.. I'm not even American.. would be funny to me if the US lost.. ESPECIALLY if kobe was on the team

but I see absolutely no justifiable reason it would make sense to waste 1 of 12 roster spots

When's the last time USA was hurt by injuries
laugh.gif
it's basketball at the highest level..

are you forgetting the star players that missed time just last season alone?

Kobe is just not deserving of a roster spot. Point blank. 16 ppg on 30 percent shooting.

Pretty sure the amount of players playing better than that exceeds 12.

but the amount of them named Kobe is 0...he will 100% get in if he wants to run

might as well give any and everyone from the original dream team a spot if all that matters is a name

yea lets stretch this out forever to make that SIMPLE POINT incorrect foh fam

I know the argument is that Kobe should get that 12th man spot because of his name. The problem is he's not going to want 12th man minutes. That's just not his nature.

He's not down to take a backseat to anyone. He'll fight his mortality till he dies.

Just look at how he's playing during his last year. He is literally going down shooting.

if hes sitting for 2 1/2 quarters & can go balls to the walls in that last q & 1/2 with fresh legs vs tired ones he wont care ....

that will be kobe time

I don't doubt that's exactly what he thinks will happen when if he plays for team usa

The reality might be something different. This is exactly the problem.

international teams are already good. the rest of the world has improved, but lets not kid ourselves

no other way to go out. he isnt gonna settle for a brandon rush/richard jefferson/rasual butler role.

D Rose was always hella underrated defensively
Agreed. He does have his lapse but for the most part, he doesn't gamble much and he usually stay in front or always putting his arm or body on the player.

Hopefully D Rose can keep up his defensive play. Lord knows he 's not exactly doing it on the offensive end. Lol.

Never underestimate though. A bronze medal in the past should prohibit arrogance. I can understand if we won nothing but gold, but we didn‘t.

I think the respect for international players are there, but the whole, this is automatic is what cost us.

Preparation, competition, and the desire to collectively win trumps all, including individual pride.

B
Because everything we have seen this season so far demonstrates that Kobe will be willing to take a backseat role on any team
So are you for or against Kobe going? I couldn't tell lol

It's not even about role, it's about giving him the chance to go because he's earned it. With his NBA accomplishments as well as what he did in 2008 to pretty much win the Gold medal game for them at the end

He earned whatever he has already received.. If anyone should get the spot it's Duncan, who can still justify a role on any team

Role players have specific roles, what exactly is kobe's?

I think a young up and coming guy should be given the spot.. Like harden on the 2012 team
bronze metal Duncan should be deported

Right. lol

We're seeing the facilitating Derrick Rose now.

Interesting article from Sams smith that i'll share with you in the Bulls thread.
