Give me a break.. even 2011 Russ was a lot closer to 2011 Rose than you might want to admit..
Per 36, Rose scored better by 1.4 points and had .7 less turnovers, but Russ had the advantage in rebounds, assists, steals (all by 1). Rose had a TS% of 55% and Russ shot 53.8% and PER was damn near identical. Rose did have the advantage with WS though, by a healthy margin.. WS/48 of .208 to .159

The biggest difference? The Bulls had the leagues best defense and won more games. No denying Rose was awesome that year, but the numbers? They were damn near identical.

and LOL @ 2011 Rose being better than current Russ. Per 36, Russ scores better by 3.7, 1.5 more steals, 3 more assists, 4 more rebounds AND he shoots a higher TS% by of 58% to 55%.. and has a PER 8 points higher and a WS of .286 to .208. Current Russ destroys MVP Rose.

You can call him inefficient, except current Russ shoots better than MVP Rose.. call him turnover prone.. sure. He does have 2 more turnovers PER 36. so that's a win for Rose... but just the numbers? It's not even close. I love how if Russ doesn't get any assists, he's selfish.. but when he does rack up assists, then he's "assist hunting". He's still lazy on defense, still shoots the team out of rhythm sometimes, still can be a bonehead, all those faults still exist.. but Russ is a very good basketball player.

I love Rose, I wish he would return to form.. but he was a clear case of "Best player on the best team" rather than the clear cut MVP that season. Plus.. Lebron fatigue and voters not wanting to give it to D12 because his team didn't win enough games.

I never once said it wasn't close. I simply think 2011 Rose is a better player and runs a better team that current Russell Westbrook.

Simple.
