Very possible if he plays the same ROLL. That's the key word. Green would be a upgrade over Otto for sure.

that's what wiz really need. someone to fill that dinner roll. green's game wouldn't change if he played on any other team. he is that versatile with different elite skill set. he makes guys better

Draymond to the Celtics?

Man, that pick n roll or pick and pop game would be lethal.

That team is already a good defensive team and adding Green, it'll be better.

Isiah Thomas and Green pick and roll/pop, would give teams problem along with some Turner/Green pick and pop/roll.

Green is probably the best at the screen setting and rolling off and making the best decision.

what makes kawhi so special, besdies his defense, and his newly acquired 3 pt shooting?

what are we basing our judgements on when we decide a player should be the franchise and the one you build around? the one that scores the most? passes the most? if jimmy butler is a good player, but not a real leader, is he still the franchise player? the one you build around? is it based on mental strengths as much as physical ability?

But Blake Griffin averages over 5 assist a game while scoring 23 a night and their assist percentage is identical. Naturally, one would think that if you're averaging over 10 more ppg while still creating for teammates at the rate that blake does then yes he is a better playmaker.

Draymond is a better 3 point shooter. But that's it. Draymond is a below average midrange shooter while blake until very recently was above league average.

Unlike you, those things I just mentioned are factual b. Swallow your spit :lol

you just said he does nothing better then  blake two message ago. just like when you lebron is better then kobe at everything in basketball....:rollin you straight comedy shoeking.

i think the biggest piece is their chemistry. they compliment eat other. and they genuinely seem like they're homies. russ and kd are a powerful combo, but its still way too much push and pull with them. there are no defined roles.

Kawhi is the epitome of Spurs basketball. He just does everything right in that system. His skills are perfect for the org. He wouldn't fare as well in other teams or systems doe, but he would still be a good player.

Jimmy Buckets has the skills to be the franchise player, but he has alienated several of his teammates to the point where he can't be the man

Was speaking in hyperbole there. Green is a better defender and 3pt shooter I believe, but not by that much and actual facts support that (in regards to defense). Everything else Blake is better than draymond at. The idea that Dray is better than blake is fun, but what supports that?

You said Draymond is better than blake. How? At what? And then back up your claim. Factually he really isn't better than blake and its a hard comparison to make because they are asked to do different things for their respective teams

Too busy trying to take over a role he isn't built for yet. If he took the quiet route like Kawhi there wouldn't be so much friction in our locker room mean.gif

Kawhi would be good anywhere. When you can defend, shoot, rebound and play hard & smart like him....you'll have success wherever.

People talk about his newfound 3ball...and he's much improved. But even before this season, he was a career 38% 3point shooter.

Well I just meant he is a star in the Spurs system

If he were to start off his career in lets say the Lakers or Wizards, he would be a more offensively gifted Trevor Ariza
Of course if you trade Kawhi right now he would still flourish

Green is great, but let's not also forget that in the pick and roll, teams usually choose to trap Curry, thus giving Green all that room to operate.

Might be a different story for Green if he played with a different point guard who isn't as dangerous a scorer as Curry.

like, it brings me back to the discussion we had last week. flip kawhi and pg, whom works out best? i feel like kawhi, outside of defense, doesnt quite have the talent pg has. but kawhi is a perfect cog in the spurs system. where as, pg may not be, simply because of his ability to do so much more and that wouldnt be asked of him there. Like, LMA, dude sseems hella unhappy compared to how he was in Portland. His squad is winning, but just looking at his face you doesnt seem like he enjoys it as much. Not being the guy. Even though he knew this going in, I'm sure reality hit him the first time he was wide out and 18 feet and was waved off for a duncan layup

Kawhi, he's pretty good at getting his shots off, especially in the middle range area. Once he gets deeper into the paint, he'll do turn around with one hand hooked shots that are high percentage.

Basically, he can get to his spots and is very good at doing it and making it.

Mid range monsta.

hes a better defender. dont give me stats, you are the worst when it comes to try and drop stats to prove a point. stats arent everything and dont tell the whole story.

dray is a way better defender and its not close.

. can defend almost anyone one on one ,

dray is also the better passer. blake is a better scorer, dray a better shooter.

dray is not a number one option, yes we know that.

i would say dray plays his role and is better at his role then blake is at his. id rather have draymond and find a first option for him to play with and be robin then have blake as my batman ......

Kawhi only developed that mid range game in the last two years, just right now he's finally fully developed in that department
He wasn't doing what you said until his first Finals when they lost against the Heat
The growth of Leonard has been interesting
He doesn't have great handles, his form isn't perfect, yet he just can flat out score now
I'm sure Pop wasn't even expecting this

If john wall or draymond are your best players u will pat yourself on the back for having 2nd round appearances. Wall being the best player will have the same results of cp3 being the best player

Stats aren't everything. That is true.

But neither is what you see.

You say Draymond is a WAY better defender and a better passer. What if I disagree? Is my eyesight wrong there or something laugh.gif?

This is where the actual numbers come into play. It supports or doesnt support what you actually see because sometimes (not all cases) what you see isnt reality. This year alone I've seen blake check everyone from Reggie Jackson to AD to PG and KD and from my vantage point he was fantastic. From my eyesight it also appears that blake is better than draymond at shooting everywhere on the floor but the three point line. Right or wrong, but thats what I see. So now from what I've seen I think draymond isnt that much of a better defender than blake. See how easy it is to construct an opinion based on what I see?

You trust your eyesight 100% And dismiss the actual facts. I use both to come to a conlusion that I think is sound. Sorry you dont understand that

he's developed and also allowed to do much more. his first couple seasons he was deferring, but we saw even in the first finals, that he was capable of being their number 1.
you dont need great handles to get your shots off. he can dribble once or twice and get a clean look or like someone said, back you down and shoot that hook.
what surprised me was his 3pt shot since he wasn't really showing it in college.

as for jimmy, he's trying to be the man both on the court and vocally in the locker room. rose was never that guy to off the court, it was noah. with the decline in rose, jimmy is stepping up, but who knows if guys are ready. i do think they need to trade and blow up that "core"

@Freeze ,

About Jimmy Butler to refer to your question.

He's forcing himself to a leader for THE team. He's trying to push the leadership issue on his teammates and they definitely are not vibing with him on it.

His play making ability is decent - solid, at best.

Him creating his own shots, he's not so great at right now..

Ball handling, he's gotten better but not enough to evade defense and double team on screens.

But when he drives to the hoop, he's pretty good at drawing fouls and finishing the lay ups.

He is improving a lot but face of franchise? Nah.

Draymond is GOAT. Its obvious. MJ is a fraud.
