I'm a Marketing Coordinator for a CE company right now. It's a decent gig but if I can get into the MLB/NFL/NBA I'll move to any city for a couple years. Except Sacramento.

Jk rck.

I'll never understand the hate for Dwight.

He's been in the right 95% of the time an people focus on the 5%. A constant reminder of the fact the facts don't matter as much as how much people like you.

Preach.

There are legit reasons to not like Dwight, or question his moves....but people have foolishly let their dislike of him (mostly media driven) to cloud how they view him as a basketball player.

You had Chauncey Billups saying he was an OK player and NOT a hall of famer. :smh:.

People just couldn't accept that maybe  prime Dwight reached his potential. People latched on to him and wouldn't let up on "He could be so much better if he put in the practice in the gym". When maybe.. just maybe.. he was as good as he could have been. That he would never be the shooting kind of big man, no amount of practice in the post would give him Hakeem-esque moves.. and he would never have the size and strength of Shaq.

I've said my peace on him too many times on here. I don't think I have it in me anymore

dwights biggest problem is that he doesnt realise he reached his potential. he is locker room cancer who doesnt understand why a team is better off with the ball in the hands of an allstar SG rather than watching his clumsy post moves.

dwights problem is not that he is not doing enough, its that he listens to people who say he's not doing enough and tries to do too much.

rather than taking the DJ/Tyson chandler role and help the team out he gets upset at not getting enough touches and brings the team down with him.

nothing but a big child with wasted potential

So basically you, similar NTers, and most of ESPN ?

Towns vs Porzingis should be fun

i hope both stay out of foul trouble so we get the full experience unlike Towns vs Okafor

?
when have I ever said dwight needs to do more on offense?

I've been saying he needs to be tyson chandler since his year on the lakers

he needs to do less, not more

Dwight Howard was a far better basketball player than Jordan or Chandler.. so no.. Prime Dwight should have never taken that role. Dwight Howard now? That's a different story.. but people have been making that claim that Dwight "could be so much more" since his days in Orlando. Acutally, no.. even Dwight Howard now shouldn't be Tyson Chandler status.

And what wasted potential exactly? I honestly don't believe Dwight could have been that much better on offense.

They're talking about it right now on the Starters.. TERRENCE JONES IS TAKING MORE SHOTS PER GAME THAN DWIGHT. He's 5th on his team in shot attempts, that's insane. If he's unhappy, maybe focus a little more on him on the offensive side. Give him some more pick and roll opportunities, feed the big man so he's happier, and maybe that helps. I don't think he's expecting to be the focal point of the offense, but he shouldn't be the 5th option either.

And that response is exactly what I don't get... "Nothing but a big child with wasted potential" Really? Being a superstar in the NBA, an elite defender, a huge fanbase, defensive player of the years, a trip to the Finals.. that's what I think of when I think of Dwight. Does he have his problems? Of course. He handled his Orlando exit terribly and should have been quiet and waited his time to leave. It did give us the top 5 most awkward NBA moment ever with him and SVG. What potential did he waste? Dwight could have LIVED in a gym, and I highly doubt he ended up a vastly different player.

Played through debilitating back injury that required surgery and sapped his athleticism.

Carried a poorly coached squad and choking James Harden to 6 games against the Blazers. which james harden promptley ruined by falling asleep defending lillard.

Played great defense to help the rockets get to a WCF and a historic comback while james harden sat on the bench.

But is hated and called "soft". Life is strange.

its not about his abilities on the basketball court

its about his mindset, after leaving orlando he didnt have the body to be great anymore but he was unwilling to change his game up. dude was on a team with steve nash refusing to run pick and rolls because shaq says real centers post up on TNT.

maybe someday john hollinger will add myers briggs test results into one of his silly formulas so you people will understand there's more to basketball than just being able to play basketball
