3rd or 4th? You're smoking bro

If you watch the games you can see Rose defers a lot already. He needs to start playing consistently aggressive, which he's only started to do the last 4 games.

Don't let the shot attempts fool you

Bulls are still a much better team; much better with Rose on the floor. With that being said I watch quite a bit of them myself and even when Rose is at his best he would seem the 3rd most important behind Pau.

That's not a knock though.
Take away Pau they are still good but worse
Take away Rose they are still good but worse

I'd rather take away Rose though, even though they seem light at PG and way heavy on 4/5 spot

Agreed to all.

Like Amel said, Rose has done a lot of deferring this season. At the start, he seem content with just deferring to Butler and Pau.

Now that he's got his legs under him, he doesn't defer AS much but now, he is attacking the rim aggressively and has played better and more efficiently.

I don't think he's trying to be the #1 guy anymore, he's willing and capable of being the #2 or #3 guy. I like to think that he knows his role in this new Bulls team and he's figuring out the best way.

One thing to understand though, to everyone in this thread, Rose still get a lot of attention on defense. He'll drive and penetrate then the defense will always collapse to him. There, he dishes out as usual but if he thinks he can take it, he will. He's still the #1 guy to double team, even though he's the 2nd to 5th scorer. It just who he is that defense won't allow him to play his game. But he's been stringing strong games the past 7 games.

He's definitely showing his explosiveness again. Last night game was one example that it was on display.

You guys are smoking, I tell you

Fooled by the streak they continued when Rose was away

If Butler didn't elevate his game when Rose sat out the three games, it'd be much more obvious how much even a sub par Rose is needed

I can understand putting Butler ahead of Rose, except when Rose is playing his best. After that, I disagree.

Pau really isn't that important. He can put points up on the board but he gives up points on the other end, just the same. You take Pau out, they're a less offensively potent team but they'll become better at defense to compensate.

I'm telling ya, Pau has been god awful on defense. His refusal to hedge or switch properly on defense causes a lot of peoblems. He's left Jimmy or Rose hanging out to dry on defense so so many times. Want to score easy points? Just attack Pau on the pick and roll  Lots of teams know that

Rose, on the other hand, while he isn't the defender Jimmy is, can defend a lot better than his reputation, and he's certainly much less of a doormat than Pau. His defense has been very underrated this yr. And even when Rose isn't scoring a lot, which is often, he demands a lot of attention, so that makes him important even when he isn't scoring 20 points.

When Rose is playing well, it's not even a question.

People always say he puts up points on one

Let me start over.

When people say (Pau or Kanter for instance) he scores on one end but gives up points on the other end I'm like, SO WHAT!

On the average night, actually way above average night, more like 5 out of 6 nights Pau and Kanter are going to outscore their opponent at the position they are guarding by 2-4X.

So who gives a damn how weak they are on Defense. If this is known it is way easier to Coach up the other Big (team mate) who is on the floor with him to Concentrate highly on being the help defender to help offset this than it is to find a Big with swift feet who can give you a Double Double in 20 minutes of play.

At the end of the game the highest score wins. Gimme Pau and Kanter as my front court, and I can build a team around them that will outscore anybody.

Bigs are a delicacy in todays league.

Steph has made it easy for guys to forget this.

A-friend your logic is flaw imma let you cook dough
Life is flawed. Nothing is logical unless the desired result is achieved.

Thunder win .686 percent of their games, by outscoring people.

It's not their defense because like Kanter and equally so, not a god damn one of them play defense.

They, have built a team that will outscore you, there is my proof.

IMO Pau Gasol has made a bigger impact on the Bulls than Butler's newly signed contract or Rose coming back after taking PTOs.

Being a laker fan gives you a unique perspective of the game. You witness and absorb what true dominance is. You know the difference between a championship team that's just coasting and a false contender that just aint got it. And you learn how to build a team that will never accomplish anything because they are fundamentally broken. That's all I got to say about that.

why does it seem to be so difficult to find stitched, tackle twill jerseys these days? everything is this wack heat-treated crap
