Kristaps will get the hate and negative attention once he plateaus a bit. Might be next year or the year after, but if he doesn't consistently improve or has an average or down season, you'll see everyone talking about "The NY hype is real" or "He was always overrated" kind of deal.
I'm just happy a Knicks pick looks to be the real deal. I don't need him to be the next Dirk or multiple MVP.. just continue to work hard, improve, and hit his potential. A 7'3" player who can get 20 and 10, while hitting 3's, spacing the floor, and protecting the rim? That's more than enough.
