Nope. I'm with ya...

People need to understand that disrupting the flow of the game is half the strategy in this. It's only disrupting the flow one way once it becomes strategic and that's when a team like the Clippers or Houston has the ball. There's still flow, but it's only one way and it favors the team that does the fouling. Put DJ or Dwight on the line, they miss the second FT (or even if they make it) and then head back the other way. Score, foul, stops the opponents flow and rhythm and they go back the other way again. Of course Clippers fans and players are gonna be upset. The game is in the hands of bum *** Jordan all the time.

your arguing apples and oranges. you guys dont have a good argument whatsoever for why this cheesy tactic shouldnt be changed. all i hear is that then they are millionaires and its not that hard , yeah none of that makes sense or are valid reasons for why this rule shouldnt be changed. . i want to see the game and actual game play. not you cant stop somebody and your lazy so lets foul. thats good defense according to some of you dudes. its cheesy period. same dudes arguing probably be cheating online in 2k and ish like that. nah. im not with that. i like basketball and you should get penalize for fouling. it should never be a reward .

. yeah i cant see why people are so for this type of nonsense.

I play kobe on rondo defense whenever i guard someone who cant shoot

I dont need to use up my energy on D and the other player is tempted into taking a low % shot

it's not lazy, its smart and good defense

Lebatard is always talking about how people in the organization don't really like whitesidemuch though.

when you playing the game . sure , leave the guy who cant shoot open that is smart d. . but fouling cause you dont want to play d and your banking on missed free throws is lazy d  and  cheesy . miss me with that . thats just

not wanting to play d period. that shouldnt be allowed.

im not saying the rules should not be changed

but as the rules currently work, fouling a bad freethrow shooter is strategy and being smart. it's not lazy

teams dont do it because they are too lazy to play defense, they do it because statistically the other team will probably score more points in a half court set than their worst free throw shooter shooting freethrows

He said they are unsure about maxing him, not dislike. We're capped and if this core can't be tweaked into contention then fully committing to them financially is a sore sight. Heat doesn't have much of a choice tho... He hasn't had any off court/on court issues to take account to, that's media stirfry

you right then. i agree with that as ive stated if i was a coach i would have no problem doing it , because the rules allow it. as a fan im against it. its kills the game and enjoyment of the game for me. it shouldnt be allow because of that. im only a fan and only care about my enjoyment. . its a penalty , it should never benefit teams that do it intentionally. like i said two shots and the ball and well never have to see this crap again.

leaving a bad shooter open on the perimeter = smart
going at a bad defender on offense = smart

You're taught from a young age to exploit the other teams' weakness and for some teams their weakness is FT shooting. I understand why the intentional foul rule will be changed but i don't think it needs to be changed.

There have been some ups and some downs, along with an acknowledgment from Lakers Coach Byron Scott that Russell is slightly behind where Scott hoped he would be at this point.

“I probably thought he’d be a little further,” Scott said Saturday as the Lakers prepared to play San Antonio. “But ... 19 years old. I always take that into consideration. Every time I try to chastise him about something or get mad at him about something, I always go right back to, ‘You know what? Coach, he’s 19. He’s still a kid, he’s still learning, he’s still trying to figure out what this league is all about.’ ”

“He’s not old enough for me to have a meeting with him to discuss ‘What does he think?’ ” Scott said.

“He’s such a kid. I told him the other day, ‘You’re 19 but sometimes I think you’re 14.’ And then sometimes I say, ‘You’re 19 but sometimes, like today, you’re 22, 23.’ We have a real playful relationship because he’s such a playful kid. At practice he has fun until we say, ‘All right, let’s get serious,' because it’s practice. Shoot-around is the same thing. But you can’t help but just smile and like the kid.”

I think the solution is very simple. Any piss poor ft shooter should be banned from the nba. Problem solved.

Malone is such a good coach for a young team like Denver.

meanwhile in NY, Derek Fisher is preaching the development of the young guys over wins while Vujacic is getting Grant's minutes & Afflalo is taking the last shot instead of Porzingis.

I said this on Twitter - As a general rule, I don't like to say people are dumb, but Byron just straight up sounds like he's not very bright a lot of the time.

Maybe, but with Byron, he says that, but isn't actually doing that. DLo and Randle can play well, but don't always get rewarded with more minutes. He just seems kind of arbitrary with the way he manages the young guys' minutes.

:lol true.

He's doing it. Randle's playing 32+ minutes in the 2gms since February began. Russell's matching his season high average in those two games as well.

Rodney Hood's shooting over 36% from three on the season and 88% at the line (where he could get to more). 46% from 3 in Jan. If I'm another team I try to grab him at the deadline if he's at all available. He's doing this **** as a perimeter-oriented scorer, even though he's being set up for those looks by Trey Burke and Raul ******* Neto. laugh.gif

Man, why you gotta bring in numbers? It's more fun to just call Byron a dumb ***.
