He's def not serious man. It helps him create a false sense of hope thinking that one day they might win a championship.

You should get a job where you charge people money to tell them how they feel. Like a Physcologist. You're amazing.

JJs quietly looked really good since Hollins got fired. He should be a good playmaker for a second unit on a playoff team and a solid spot up shooter. The guy isn't a 2 anymore so any team that signs him and hopes he can keep up with guys there won't be happy.

Doc coached Joe in Boston, right? Has to make us the front runners to sign him after the buy out.

. . . I hope not actually. Although I would take Joe over Paul Pierce, having both of them would not be good for us.

I don't think Joe's game will translate well at all in Cleveland's fast paced game. He loves to iso and hogs the ball a lot.

I haven't seen enough Thunder games to tell if he will be a good fit there, but anything is an upgrade from Waiters. He could fit in with the Clips too.

JJ has signed with us officially. We need all the help we can get.
I think he'd be a good fit for the Clippers. Too bad they already made that trade for Green (also having Pierce too).

I still wouldn't be shocked if they tried to sign him

Sources tell ESPN several playoff teams (Atlanta, Boston, Cleveland, Houston, Miami, OKC and Toronto) are already in pursuit of Joe Johnson

Anyone but Cleveland. Seriously.

Who gets first dibs on players bought out? I thought the worst record teams get a chance first?

pretty sure Joe will go to the cavs if he has a choice

On the waiver wire, yes it goes by team record, from worst to best.

Once a player clears waivers, he can sign with anyone.

Right, but in most cases guys like Joe Johnson clear waivers because the crappy teams know he isn't going to want to play for them and bringing a guy like him is really of no benefit to a team in rebuilding (aka tank) mode.

I feel like he would only exacerbate problems for all of those teams except cleveland and maybe Toronto.

His playstyle doesnt fit in ATL or Boston, fits in too well for Houston and OKC and I just don't see him helping in Miami.

I hope Joe is only considering SAS or CLE, even OKC.

Just to make things a smidge more interesting

Should Johnson, 34, obtain a buyout of his $25 million salary for the season, Cleveland would be his next destination, sources with knowledge of the dialogue told cleveland.com.

Brooklyn is aware of the ballpark figure it would take for Johnson to agree to a buyout, a source said. The way sources characterize the situation, Brooklyn has to decide whether it wants to help the Cavaliers, or allow Johnson to play out his contract as-is.

Johnson, I'm told, isn't overly concerned about whether a buyout is negotiated. His primary focus is just playing.

A player who is bought out must be signed with his new team by March 1 to be playoff-eligible. Cleveland considered trading for Johnson last summer.

That was from an article I read 6 days ago...

It's looking like it's the Cavs.

You're thinking of ATL Joe. He doesn't really NEED to ISO and hog the ball. The only year Brooklyn was good, he was primarily spotting up (shot 40% from 3) and posting up depending on matchup. He's pretty unselfish. Put him on Atlanta and he'll adapt. He is really slow though - so running and gunning isn't really his thing.
