Crowded at his position and he'd probably play off the ball exclusively. I wouldn't either

And lakersman.

I mean this question sincerely.
No stones being tossed, no sarcasm being displayed.

But with this logic,
Doesn't it mean if someone for example was a thief, arsonist, criminal, drug dealer, whatever for 15 years... Putting their families life at risk over and over again, not to mention damaging other people's properties and well being... That he should continue to stay one until the day he dies? Should we not want him to pay his debt to society, change, and be a better human being out of it? Should we not expect for him to learn some humanity and genuinely change his ways?

I'm not comparing this example to Kobe in any shape or form. I'm just talking about the "if you're something then stay something all the way through" logic. That theory has a lot of outliers doesn't it? If that was the case then none of us would ever deserve 2nd chances in life.

We don't know whether or not someone's genuinely become a better person or not. We don't know if they've become genuinely humbled or not.

We can "assume" or "guess" that its fake, but who are we as human beings to tell other people to stay "the villain" their whole life instead of wanting to be "the hero" along the way?

Even LeBron got tired of playing the villain. He couldn't make it past a few years, hence the "I'm going home" letter. Was that not fake? was it real? Who know right? We have our opinions but at the end of the day we'll never really know with certainty what was on lebrons mind.

And we'll never know whether Kobe genuinely feels bad for those burned bridges. BUT, if he does, then why would we criticize him for having regret and remorse and genuinely trying to make amends for his past transgressions? I mean, it doesn't erase the bad things he's done, I'm not saying it deserves forgiveness. No.

But I don't think saying "f your sorry, stay an *** hole because that's what you've always been" exactly gets us anywhere in this world either.

Using your analogy as the basis, people who misbehave do indeed deserve a second chance. However first they must pay for their errors and the second chance is given when those who have the authority feel justice has been meted out. The criminal does not get to say when and how he gets the second chance. As law enforcement closes in on him can he drop a dollar in a panhandlers cup and say "hey I'm a great guy, cut me some slack"? Nope you suffer the full consequences of your actions and then we talk about you having the opportunity to be something different. From that point many years of good behavior is what will be needed to change how society views that person.

Bad person = bad reputation -> Suffer consequences/Justice -> Second chance granted, not demanded -> Long period of good behavior -> Good reputation

IDK. man. You kind of have to admit there is a level of irony in you co-signing a post about the power of positivity. That's not exactly your thing - at least on here. Would be like @leemelone all of sudden advocating the virtue of humility.

Late, but I'm just extremely content with how things are right now. Being a Timberwolves fan has finally - seemingly - provided a big return on the decades of investing (provided he's able to maintain his health, unforeseen injuries). This particular matchup below is going to be fun for years (among others: Russell, DMC, Ant, J.Randle, etc.).

(This last picture is terrific for the ties to the Timberwolves past and future, false hope vs. real hope)

The Warriors waived Jason Thompson on Monday to make room for Anderson Varejao, but where will the longtime Kings big man end up?

According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, Thompson's next destination could be the city Golden State passed through Wednesday night.

The Heat, who the Warriors just defeated in a 118-112 road thriller, reportedly have Thompson on a short-list of players under consideration for when they are clear of going into the luxury tax (March 7-glasses.gif.

Golden State fans should be familiar with two other names on the list: Jordan Crawford and Dorrell Wright. The NBA vets played for the Warriors in 2014 and 2010-2012, respectively. Both men are currently playing in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).

Thompson played in 29 games with the reigning champs this season, with averages of 2.1 points and 1.9 rebounds.

I can't argue with that. You really don't go after other posters on here unless they go after you first.

Joe Johnson is still decent in 2k. Should be a fun team to play with against others I guess

In reality it does nothing. Would have liked to see him go back to Atlanta for kicks and giggles. After he dissed the entire fan base that one season

Report: Jason Kidd getting resistance from Bucks ownership

Jason Kidd became the Bucks’ head coach in part due to his relationship with Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry. Lasry previously owned a share of the Nets and served as Kidd’s financial advisor.

Kidd has seen his power grow in Milwaukee, reportedly becoming the team’s de facto general manager.

But his ascension with the Bucks, who are also owned by Wes Edens and several others with smaller shares, has hit a snag.

“Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports:

At last week’s trade deadline, Kidd tried to engineer a massive deal with New Orleans that Milwaukee ownership ultimately rejected, league sources tell me.

That wouldn’t have happened a year ago. But the fact that it did now speaks to the growing division within Milwaukee’s ownership group on Kidd.

At the least, there’s an increasing reluctance to grant Kidd player-personnel power — never mind his hopes of moving out of coaching and into the role of Milwaukee’s top basketball executive.”

There’s plenty of reason to question Kidd’s reign, especially given his relationship with agent Jeff Schwartz. The players union is cracking down on agents representing players and management/coaches, but Kidd has already made shaky moves with Schwartz clients — including trading for Michael Carter-Williams and drafting Rashad Vaughn. For what it’s worth, Schwartz doesn’t represent any current Pelicans, making that potential trade more of a mystery.

The Bucks have also gone from 41-41 last season to 24-34 this year. If that were a deliberate choice to get younger — jettisoning Zaza Pachulia, Jared Dudley and Ersan Ilyasova and signing Greg Monroe — that step back could be OK. But given Kidd’s reliance on veterans like Jerryd Bayless and O.J. Mayo this season, the step back does not seem intentional. Plus, Milwaukee probably should’ve gotten more value when trading Pachulia, Dudley and Ilyasova.

Kidd has improved immensely as a coach since his start with the Nets, and perhaps he could do the same as a front-office head. He’s smart.

But he can also be difficult, and it seems the Bucks might not want to ride out his learning curve.

Complicating matters is the split in their ownership. Has Lasry changed views on Kidd? Is Edens driving this? Are lower-stakes owners incapable of affecting real change just griping? For what it’s worth, Edens has represented Milwauke at the NBA’s Board of Governors meetings.

Kidd’s end in Brooklyn got messy. Is his tenure in Milwaukee headed a similar direction?

Unfortunately we play in the same conference as Steph :I (and Ant when he gets a team around him that's not Dante Cunningham and earwax).

Nah I mean maybe Towns reaches a level where it wouldn't be like running into a buzzsaw every year when playing Steph/Ant, but we'll see. Those three and Kawhi and Friends are the makeup of the West for the next 10 years, if I'm not forgetting anyone + if future rookies land on a West team that I can't refer to (we'll see).

Speaking of Rashad Vaughn, was it ever reported why Woj's tweet re: Vaughn being drafted by I think, Houston?, or at least that was the label on the pick, ended up being immediately retracted for someone else, anyone remember that?
