Just how widespread is this 'hacking' anyway?

Probably only the Clippers, Pistons and maybe one other team sees this strategy regularly

And I can only think of Popovich that really abuses the hacking like that

And Popovich is not going to use the strategy every game

regardless theres not many guys in the league who are terrible at free throws and cant shoot...so they should change the rule for those few players who cant make free throws? sounds like a cop out to me

Hot Take:

As good as Porzingis has been this year he would be better outside of the triangle. There are too many times where he's catching the ball in situations that aren't advantageous to his skill set. He shouldn't be trying to put the ball on the floor from 25 feet out.

Would be awesome to see him with a pg and they run a **** ton of P&R all game long.
some dude said he only looks good because of the triangle

that his game is tailor made for it.

People really forget about exactly what you said, "entertainment value."

The NBA is part of the entertainment business. When this hacking stuff became a league wide thing, and you started having players dry hump others on the free throw line, you knew something had to happen. Players out there playing tag and ****

jumping on peoples backs and catching rides on big dudes like thats the thing to do.  thats real basketball  if you let some of these dudes tell it.

Here's my thing. You can't change the rule to accommodate dudes who can't make free throws. Whatever they do, the spirit of the rule HAS to be "you have to make your free throws". Because it's not the hack a shaq strategy itself that is slowing up the game, it's the MISSED free throws. Make free throws and there's no issue, it solves itself. You get hacked 3 straight possessions and you can't make at least 3 wide open shots? Sit your *** down big fella, you can't play for the next two minutes. That's the rule. We're not gonna sit here and let this game drag on for 3 hours because your dumbass can't make a practice shot.

It's natural. Any time a player is a liability on the floor, coach takes him out. You keep turning it over, you can't play defense, sit your *** down pleighboi. So now if a dude gets fouled x amount of possessions in x amount of time and don't make at least 50%, you can't play. You're a liability and you need to have a seat. Can't be pandering to these dudes when they make more money than ever. That doesn't sit right with me at all

Also, I love the "you get paid millions of dollars you should learn how to shoot free throws."

How about these million dollar players and million dollar coaches learn how to defend. Coaches get paid to teach defense and you prefer they resort to telling their players to foul? Do your job and Teach these dudes how to Defend a CP-DJ pick n roll.
yeah i agree with you. these dudes are paid millions they should learn to play defense and not resort to stupid tactics.

You don't care, that's fine.

But the NBA i'm sure does.
i care to . entertainment > stupid tactics. i cant imagine actually being at the game and having to watch that nonsense. like i said when they start doing that im out. i flip the channel and i know im not alone. that ish is wack af.  i want to watch a game not a free throw shooting contest. glad they are going to do something about it.

Random, but Hibbert and Lance should've never left the Pacers (I know Hibbert was traded). I'm not sure what the Pacers could've done to continue to be a 2-3 team while still having them, but those two clearly needed to stay. Was that PG24/Lance/Hibbert/West/George Hill team maxed out as far as their ceiling?

Sad to see AD waste his years on that crappy team
hes the highest paid player in the l. im sure hes crying all the way to the bank.

That crying my be cause of constant injuries
