A lot of different options that could've played out. Obviously, I'm sure if they knew Steph had a 40 foot shot in mind they would've played it different - in hindsight.

Yeahhhh,

you're missing the point though.

It lowkey has nothing to do about the shot steph chose to take. With 6 seconds left, you want your team to bust their tail to get in front of the ball, and you want some sort of pressure on the ball to make the clock work against the offensive player. It's not like steph got the ball and took off running. He was coasting, there was enough time for Roberson to pick him up and try and make him change directions at least once.

That to me is a way better alternative than having the best player in the league coast up the court. The shot he chose to shoot is irrelevant to the logic behind what I feel should have been done. You should never be in full retreat like roberson was with 6 seconds left.

Scary thing is that Steph is still improving.

There's no reason to pressure the ball if you don't think the player is going to shoot from that far. A player like Steph, heck - a lot of nba players - are too good for you to pressure them that far out without reason.

Why is this even a debate (besides DC's obvious involvement)

No one is expecting him to pull up from that distance.

Yes, it's Steph, yes he's doing this kind of banana **** all the time. Yes I've had too much tequila. But I'm not faulting anyone for not covering a player that far away from the basket. Sure, he should have been covered at soon as he had the ball, but whatever.

He hit the game winner from 38 ******* feet.

Let's just appreciate the shenanigans we just saw.

Expecting, maybe not.

Understanding there is a possibility, not sure why that wouldn't be in the minds of ANY opponent of GSW in THAT situation

And us having this conversation isn't taking anything away from our enjoyment of what happened. That was pages ago, we are discussing strategy now. Nothing wrong with having this conversation

DC is right its situational any good player is gonna know the clock at that time and pick him up full court. Dude let him get those 2 hard dribbles to get in rythem and gather uncontested.

Exactly. Lol I followed his whole career at Davidson. And in 09 on draft night, when the first 6 picks happened and he was still on the board I was so ready man. And sure enough stern came out and proceeded with "with the 7th pick, of the 2009 NBA draft, the golden state warriors select..." And boom it happened. My favorite college player was on my favorite NBA team. After his rookie season, I still knew he'd have a way better career than tyreke. After his ankle problems I still believed. But ya, never would have I thought he'd be this good, obviously. But I knew he was something special

I always knew he could shoot from his time at Davidson but I had no clue he would be this good and dominant like he is now. It's amazing to watch

Bro! This is the NBA, not women's college ball. You don't see nba teams do all that unless it's the 90's Bulls, 97 Kentucky widcats, 90's runnin Rebs etc...

Seriously, EVERYONE knew he could shoot but that's it coming out of college. Again, nobody thought he'd be special like this. You one of the, fronting *** dudes if you say "oh I knew all along after seeing him in Davidson he'd be the second best guard next to MJ" yea ooookkkay

Dude seriously did not show any flashes like this his rookie year. He didn't even bust out having handles like kyrie until a few years in.

He had a few moment but not like this. He's really put the work in and look where he's at now. He's the face of the league

Most def all about the work and to have the balls to do all the trickery in game that he does pre-game
