let me ask you a hypothetical . if Blake and draymond switched places. You don't think the clippers would be a better team?

I remember watching the Lakers back in the day hit some bs lucky shots too and thinking this some "bull." I guess the basketball gods felt Warriors fans have suffered way too much with bad luck so now EVERYTHING and i mean EVERYTHING is going our way. It's crazy to finally be on the other side of luck.

THIS!

It seems like every dynasty-type team in the past always have the ball bounce their way, as if the talent wasn't good enough. The Lakers always had a lucky bounce here & there, even though they had two of the most dominant players at their position  mean.gif

i've finally accepted they will break the regular season record mean.gif
what the W's are doing is unbelievable. hard not to appreciate how talented they are.

I don't know if any of you listen to podcast, The Vertical's branch of Podcast are awesome man. Just heard their podcast with Brad Stevens which was an eye opening listen into the difference between college and NBA level coaching.

Blake fits well with what the Clippers run, Draymond fits well with what the Warriors run.

If they switched places I think both teams would have similar records but both are best where they are now.

I don't know why Dray vs Blake became such a hot topic this year. laugh.gif

I think if you trade them for each other, both teams get worse. Draymond does things for the Warriors that Blake can't do, and Blake when healthy does things for the Clippers that Draymond can't do.

I'd say maybe dray is better for the dubs than blake is for the clippers

I disagree that answer seems very cliché.thanks @hot route.

To your point, The Clippers offense is designed for them to get open mid-range jumpers. There's nothing to suggest that Draymond would be better than blake at taking and making the midrange shot. 33% of blake's shots this year are midrange jumpers, compared to 4% for Draymond. In an offense that's centered around the midrange jumper, there's no framework out there that could make one assume the Clippers would be better with Draymond.

That being said, The Warriors offense obviously revolves around the 3pt line and there's nothing to suggest that the Warriors would be better with the lack of 3pt shooting that would come with Blake.

Both are great where they are.

It's a lot, but one of the main things he said he had to adjust to was the lack of practice time. He said the celtics were on like practice 45 or something this season, and at this time at butler they would be approaching practice #90, not counting the 2 and 3 a days that they do before the season starts. The games come so frequent, that preservation is just as important as practice.

I don't see the clippers having a problem scoring without Blake. So drays d and his all purpose game wouldn't make the clippers better?

Its really a hard question to answer because the way both teams play is catered to the strengths of those particular players. So, no, I don't think you could just flip Blake and Draymond and the Clippers would be better because they are different. But if the Clippers changed the system a bit to incorporate Draymond better, who knows? If they were any better, it would be marginal at best.

But Blake does a lot of those other things that Draymond does. He's also a very good passer and ball handler, as Draymond is, and is underrated on defense. He started off pretty bad defensively, but has become a plus defender. He's not as versatile as Draymond on defense, but is still a solid team defender.

So, aside from more consistent three point shooting, there's not much Draymond does that Blake doesn't do. Unless you want to start getting into intangible things like "toughness" and "heart."

because i bring the heat.

there's literally nothing that blake can do that draymond can't. but there's a bunch that dray can that blake can't. you flip dray to the clippers, they become immediately better. put blake on the dubs, the tempo has to slow down and become a half court offense. plus his defense is meh. he cannot guards 5's. nor control a big part of the ball handling like dray does. down the stretch, dray is the primary point forward/point center.

Lakers tho...

Lakers tho...

that's respectable even though I disagree but I respect your opinion.

To just switch Draymond and Blake without anything else happening, then assuming the Clippers would be better is pure bias.

Could they be better? Yes. Could they be worse? Yes.

Like I said, Clips have taken the most midrange jumpers in the league the last 2, to 3 years and have had a top 5 offense in that span. To assume that someone who literally takes NO midrange jumpers would jump right in and make this team better is a bit biased to me.

He would probably make them better defensively though, but that's potentially a moot point because there's a good chance he would make them a bit worse offensively and they are a top 6 defensive team right now and have been a top 10 defense in 2 of the 3 years Doc has been there. You can build a pretty good defense with Blake.

Also, the Clippers being able to score better w/o blake this year is more of a function of CP's greatness and timing of schedule rather than them just scoring better w/o blake. Most teams aren't a final product in december, especially one that had 9, 10 new faces on it or whatever it was.

The list of teams interested in Parsons will be long, with sources expecting the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks, Portland Trail Blazers, Houston Rockets, Denver Nuggets and Magic to be among Parsons' suitors. If Durant leaves Oklahoma City, add the Thunder to the list, with a potential reunion with Parsons' coach at Florida, Billy Donovan.

Teams gonna line up to kick out 100milly to Parsons? ..... Idk man.
