We sure that isn't supposed to say smoke a tree instead?

I still can't get over that ****** ESPN top player rankings had Westbrook over Ray Allen. This whole list is ridiculous. Just like wilbon and Rose said, it's absurd to have lebron ranked 3rd all time.

The NBA and the media are trying to market active players as all time greats in order to hype current players and trying ro increase the interest to watch nba.
Imo, before you put Lebron, Curry, Westbrook and co to the top 10 or top 20 list, i think it's totally ridiculous to ignore legends lile Wilt, West, Kareem, Magic, Bird, Olajuwon.
Todays young fans mostly only mention Jordan and Kobe as old greats because they like fancy athletic players.
Young folks also forgot or dont know that neither Magic, Bird, Jordan or Kobe were considered as greatest players after winning one championship already.
For MJ it was not before he achieved his first 3peat though most people gave him much respect when he returned to the NBA after 1.5 year and had a second 3peat from 1996-1998.
MJ was outstanding from his rookie year but it took many seasons until fans recognized him as a new greatest player.
For Kobe it was similar, he was outstanding since the 3peat run with the Lakers but it took him several years to mature to become a leader like he did in 2008 Olympics and led the Lakers to back to back Champions in 2009,2010.
Concerning Lebron, the media and even some coaches and former players hyped him to be the Goat after he won 2 championships. Now the same phenomena happens with Curry, after winning one championship.
I think nowadays players are labelled as Goat way sooner than it used to be in the past decades.
