Is it a stretch to say that KAT will be a top 10 player in the league by this time next year?

Asking for a friend
I see him starting to decline next year. Borderline starting material. Leveled off after hitting Peak in December of his rookie year.

That's just how NT judges 19-20 year olds tho. *shrugs*

Already is a top 20 player.

Don't see why he won't be top 10 next season

We didn't deserve the greatness that is KAT

I forver f with KAT now

Wiggins. Highly disappointed. :rolleyes

Not sure if Lebron plays COD but I bet he just goes for kills too :smh: and only runs with a full squad so he can keep his KD ratio up

LeBron only plays with you if you're an 8th prestige or higher

Our core of Simmons Randle Russell clarkson will be completely washed by December of next year

I believe he has not seen Wiggins play live outside of youtube highlights. It isn't hard to see he has taken steps backwards. He's still young and has time, but he has regressed this year.

Injuries aside, I can't see why he won't be a top 10 player next year and you could definitely make the claim that he's top 20 right now.

What about being top 3 in his second season like AD? is AD top 3 all-time
By now?

Towns is averaging 17/10/2/2 on 55/38/85 and he's only 20 years old. :x :x :x

idk about top 10 but i could see him being in the 14-17 range next season

lots of people thought ad was top 3 and would be the best in the L by now. myself included. has he regressed? i dont see him dominating the way i thought he would.

That was year 3, and AD was top 3 that year, so.....

I'm not even knocking wiggins at all, but let history be your guide.

There's very little doubt that wiggins will be a good / very good player. He kind of already is good now.

But you hardly ever see someone with an assist percentage as low as his end up as a "superstar" or anything like that. Someone who has the ball as much as he does should be able to playmake better than he has done thus far through his young career.

Is he young? Yes. But there's nothing to suggest that's going to all of a sudden make a huge jump as far as playmaking for others and shooting the 3 ball at a semi efficent clip. These things are independent of youth so "how we judge 19-20 year olds" really is irrelevant for the sake of this discussion with wiggins. He may become marginally better at these things, and become a rudy gay or a demar type player, and that's fine.

Function of media hype + team situation.

He's playing pretty much the same way he did last season except with an uptick in 3's.

The pelicans have been in the doldrums of the NBA this season thus, the lack of mention for AD this year. He's been pretty good.

I think kat and ad are starting to get put in the same boat. People see the numbers they put up at a young age and start fantasizing about them growing exponentially for the next 5-10 years when the reality might be that they started off their careers already being close to their ceiling. There's going to be some polish that comes with experience but I wouldn't expect any drastic improvement. Okafor is similar on offense in that he may add a more consistent jumper or whatever but he's already so advanced that there's not much room to grow.

@CP1708  be honest bro how many Wolves games have you caught this year and last

I've watched damb near all of them.. I am a big Wiggins fan, I just don't see him being much more than a good scorer.. that's not even a knock on him. He's not going to magically become someone who can create for others.. he has the ball in his hands A LOT no reason he can't at least get 3 a game. Don't get me started with his rebounding.

He's a kill only player, ain't eem mad. I just don't see a superstar. But that's just my opinion.

how long before KAT is better than we thought AD was? 2 years max. KAT is was AD was supposed to be. Now son just looking like Sam Eagle

My bad, you thought he was the best player in the nba and would be even better this year.

I said AD would be top 3 last year. I was wrong. He was #1.

I have zero doubt he will be even better next year with Gentry.

Has he regressed? We can make comments like this but can't think a player has regressed?

So you're basically saying guys like:

Carmelo Anthony
Vince Carter
Julius Erving

Were never stars?

VC averaged 3-4 assists right out of the gate. Prime VC was at 5 a game for awhile. He was a really good and willing passer.

Melos also been at 3+ since making the leap. He's also clearly a guy that sees the floor very well.

Just saying wing guards normally see the game differently than most. Not always the most willing passers but they have the ability. Wiggins needs to develop that part of his game obviously. He's had nearly no playmaking responsibility the last 2.5 years. To be fair to him, he hasn't had a good coach in the NBA and Kansas is a strange place for NBA prospects.

It really is scary. KAT has a better jump shot, passing and feel for the game as a rookie than AD, plus he's 2 inches taller and about 10-15 lbs. heavier.
