One of the best trades we've made over the last 3-4 years. I just hate we're not able to see him play with Conley, Zbo and Marc. He's playing efficiently as basically the #1 option right now on a depleted roster.

PER 36 (thru 13 games):

20.8ppg
7.4rpg
4.3apg
1spg
51% FG
82% FT

Lance has been so good man. He wouldn't have the same usage if the entire team was healthy I understand that, but he'd be a difference maker regardless. Get everybody healthy next season and tweak the roster some more.

Ethan (Juice) Scholnick said that he heard Spurs could be in play... and Knicks too. If I listen to any sauces, I listen to juice.

KD/Melo/Unicorn would be an interesting front court

Still mind boggling how Doc couldn't find a way to get Lance involved.

Is it really a long shot? I never thought about him going there but it does make sense. He wants to play in a system. Hes a low key dude and SA is probably the definition of that in the nba. Hecwould fit personality wise with their core players and he doesnt mind sharing the rock or lime light with somebody else. Hmmmm interesting scenario

KD going to Portland.

I don't see it a long shot at all.

KD is the type of dude to go somewhere like SA. That would be dope actually

Well said. I would like to believe he would be a great fit but besides LA we haven't had any big free agents choose the Spurs. I thought GSW and Lakers were the frontrunners.

True. No doubt. But I do think Ballmer is a good owner. Genuinely cares about the team and putting a good product out on the floor, but doesn't seem to get too involved in basketball decisions. And is definitely willing to spend money to improve. Yeah, I think both the uniform redesigns and mascot thing could have been done better, but the intentions were good.

Lance is for sure gonna cash in and head somehwere else after this year right? Does my heart good to see Beas and Lance producing in the NBA.

Why would he? He's on a team option for one, so we can keep him an extra year on $10M. If we decide to decline it and give him a longer extension, I think he'll stay. This is the perfect situation for him because the fans here will embrace him just like they embraced Zbo and TA. Would you rather get paid and be in a city where everyone loves you and can relate, or go to another city/team where you don't fit in?

Memphis would be dumb to decline the option and not re-sign him with how he's performing and how desperately we need a playmaker.

Kyrie's assist numbers + potential growth in that area is capped by Bron who is a historically ball dominant player. Bron is great at it, so not a big issue. Kyrie is naturally a scorer anyway, so not a big issue he isn't accumulating a bunch of assists

RWB has gotten praise since day 1 with a super green light and isn't nearly as natural a scorer. and averaged 5-6 assists early in his career with a green light to run the team as a PG.

Just don't be so nearsighted with stats, I guess in summary.

According to Scotty Brooks Russ's assists dipped down to 5 after the 2 consecutive years when he was at 8 was because Russ and the team decided to let James handle the ball a bit more and do some more play making as well

With lma siging there last year was a possible sign of things to come for them in a sense. Guys around his age have done nothing but see the spurs contend every year they can remember watching the game. That pays dividends now. The culture has been established and the solidarity of the staff and fron office has to be appealing to some of these dudes who put winning at the top of the list.
@atransta yea I remember that. and it makes sense. I was referring to the pre-8 assists years (s). Thought there were a couple, but apparently that was just his first year. Either way, he's had a green light since day 1 to run the point.

and is less of a natural/true scorer than kyrie. Kyrie is just doing what's natural in their team makeup. I'd like to see him higher in assists in games Bron sits, but I can't expect him to show it in random one-offs.

Yeah Kyrie is a great scorer for sure but like what you said with Bron out how the hell did he only get one assist

I forgot it was a team option. Indy was the perfect situation and he was a star over there. He was one win away from playin in the Finals, man....and then he dipped.

But yea, it doesn't matter because Memphis is definitely gonna brig him back laugh.gif
