Kyrie doesn't need to come off the bench. Coaching staff can get creative in a couple of ways:
  • Move Kyrie to shooting guard and bring on a defensive PG. Someone like Beverly will fit well. I know it's too late in the season to talk about this, but for now, Lebron is the playmaker of the team so Kyrie doesn't really have PG duties when LBJ on the floor.
  • Have Kyrie start, but spread out his minutes to play more with the bench than the starters. He will have SG duties next to Delladova. Having a lineup of Delly. Irving, Shump, Frye, and Mozgov works better as Frye, Delly and Mozgov don't typically look to get a lot of touches. Frye will help spread the floor for when he drives in.

I think Lou should experiment with that lineup and see how that works out.

It's not like he "doesn't" or "can't" pass. But when you play w/ someone w/ a usage rate as high as lebron's is for them, you probably are going to be finishing plays more than creating them.

I like Kyrie but he definitely just doesn't pass. He's good enough where it doesn't matter that much but he's not a drive and kick guy or a 'passing up a good shot for a great shot' guy. I think he has the vision to make the pass but more often than not, believes he could score in that situation.

Hard to call him a top 5 talent when he's basically a 0 on defense.

Also, we're going to cruise to the Gold this Summer, huh? I'm not an expert on the international teams by any means, but just judging by the foreign guys currently in the NBA, I don't see how anyone competes. Spain will still be good, but won't have Marc and a lot of their guys are older now. Canada has some talent but is too young. France maybe? Nevertheless, I'm excited for the Olympics.

I don't even think Myrie has bad vision, he's just not interested in passing.

If Kyrie and Isiah switch teams, do you think Boston will be better? It's hard to imagine. But I can see Isiah helping out the chemistry of Cleveland a lot better.

USA could have 4 or 5 kobes and still get gold.. Shouldn't be as challenging as the past two olympics

to be fair to kyrie, when the face of your franchise is selfish it makes the rest of the guys selfish as well

I'm a Lil Zeke stan...and love this dudes game and everything bout how he carries it...but he ain't better than Kyrie. It's close though. It goes:

1. Wall
2. Lillard
3. Kyrie.

Been that way since 2013.

They'd be about the same. You forget the rep It2 had before Boston. He apparently killed the chemistry in PHX and Sav. It's all about putting a good player, in a good system in Boston. And it works for him. That's my guy.

Zeke be jacking too though. laugh.gif. Don't act like he's some 10apg PG

He isn't a zero on defense that's a misnomer and to say he doesn't pass is a stretch. He does pass. He doesn't pass as much as you would like your lead guard to do so but that's more of a function of his teammates (Lebron) than him not being able to.

Like I said, he was improving in that regard and was tasked with a big responsibility as a young 19 year old.

From ages 19 to 21, Kyrie went from 275, to 350, to 433 in total assist w/ an average of about 60 games played during that span. He was at over 6 assist on avg per 36 in every single year from 19 to 21.

He was an improving passer before Lebron got there and while I don't think he would have got to elite, it's just not fair to say he "didn't" or "doesn't" pass and it's just flat out wrong to see the trajectory that his passing ability was going towards and not say that he was improving as a passer.

For comparison, Kyrie's per 36 assist numbers at 19 are almost identical to Damian Lillard's per 36 numbers right now at 25 and one isn't playing with Lebron.

Ok first of all, who ever said Isah was some 10apg guy? Please be smart with your assumptions

Second, What happened in PHX was not his fault, they had their 3 PG mess (with other rookie PGs?) and he wasn't getting a fair share. Even PHX suns GM recently admitted trading Thomas was a mistake.

Third, even though they are both score first PGs, Thomas is more of a team player and plays to win while Irving is a ball hog and cares about his brand of basketball too much.

Don't get me wrong, I am a fan or Irving, but there are frustrations with his game, most of which can be fixed (but only if he wants to fix them). Much like Iverson back in the day.
