You can call him a lot of things (nerd.gif), just don't call him the goat pf.

Take a look back at the rest of the bigs on the Spurs roster that saw action besides Robinson/Duncan in the late 90s-early 00s. Most are PFs.

That FTB pack is horrible. 8 is the only one worth it IMO simply because it's a 8.

Ska is that dude but the post allergies comment on dirk was too much lol

Just because he isn't dunking or powering to the hoop off his post moves doesn't mean he's allergic to playing with his back to the bucket. He was In the post just like every other big

dirk is the only player in nba history to be awarded an mvp award while on vacation

Dirk was a nightmare matchup on offense, zero question, but I don't know if I put him over KG. They're both neck and neck for me.

KG was on par defensively as Dirk was offensively, and of course KG on offense was definitely better than Dirk was on Defense. So to break it down, how do slice up the actual impact of Dirk on O, vs KG on D? Dirk would have to be fairly superior in order to make up for his deficiency on defense vs KG on offense.

It's 1A, 1B in my mind, I wouldn't be mad at anyone that swapped them either or, I just think I have KG a smidge ahead.

Duncan I have after Kareem, Wilt, Russell, Shaq, and Dream. So 6th best Center all time. And I would listen to Duncan over Dream for Top 5.

He was slandered heavily for it and paid his price

In fact the soft label stuck with him basically his entire career

This is when the kobster officially passed the torch. He never smacked lebron's *** in the middle of a play, as much as lebron would've liked it.

See, and I forgot to factor all that in.......

Iono, 1A, 1B, but I'm not smart enough to know who truly belongs ahead of who. I lean KG because he could impact a team more ways, imo. Defending anyone from 1-5 while still getting 20+ a night, double digit boards, and dishin 4-5 assists and throwin in a couple steals/blocks a night to boot? I mean....yeah, cast and what not, but night in and night out, KG was a force.

I believe in the moment unquestionably kg was always viewed as the superior player to dirk

It will be interesting if history writes it the same way
post #74753 of 93193
Only thing that hurts him imo is his Webber tendency. He ain't want that ball in the final 2 minutes most nights. I know that Dirk did. ohwell.gif

But my God, KG 03-04, 82 games, 24 points, 14 boards, 5 assists, 1.5 steals, 2 blocks, 50%, 29 PER what in the **** is this? sick.gifmean.gifpimp.gif

Is it easier to build around an all time great on offense vs an all time great on defense?

And at some point, longevity is a factor. If anyone says KG, fine. I'd rather have Dirk because of the many matchup problems he causes and his ability to either ISO or stretch defenses. Play him alongside the complimentary big and you see success.

Iono, honestly. To me, I would think it would be easier to build around KG, because he checks more boxes. He can fill in gaps your roster may not be able to.

And you still have to hide Dirk on defense for a large portion of his career. Never had to with KG. (minus, maybe a closer)

I wish on everything Minnesota never dealt Ray Allen, and let he and KG grow together from jump. He def would have been a better pairing than Vaseline Marbury. mean.gif

I don't understand your longevity point tho. KG is in his 21st year. He's played over 1450 regular season games, + another 140 playoff. I mean, that's a long *** career man. laugh.gif

That's all KG was, huh? laugh.gif

A guy who had several 23/12/5/1.5/1.5 seasons, filled up every single line in the boxscore. A guy who could lead the league in rebounds & give you 5-6 assists a night in addition to 23-24 points AND play great D.

We're gonna ignore all that & say he was just a great defender? laugh.gif

What, exactly, is a PF?

A person who plays other PFs?

Same for other positions.
