Last time I saw any quotes from him about it, he said he still wants to try and play. It was right after the incident with the trainer and Collangelo said it wouldn't take Blake out of the player pool. We'll see though.

I said it. It's not we've had many great years. This year was another throwaway year. I've stated many times the rebuilding process can't start till Kobe is really gone.

The post I was thinking of actually was from Essential. Erupt quoted it earlier today.

Yeah, I think its a question of some Lakers fans managing their expectations better than others. I think you and Essential, etc. realized a while back that it was going to take a while to get back to being good, after Kobe retired, like you said. So you're just seeing these last few seasons playing out like you expected. Would be harder to take for people that had higher expectations and still held out hope of the Lakers pulling in some big FAs, etc.

It was mostly because LA couldnt get it right with Mike D, Howard and Nash amd continuing to waste time.

It was most evident when The 4 horsemen part 2 failed, this time, exposing everything in the franchise, with Kobe Bryant again being the culprit.

People forget what the Lakers have always done, and that‘s to lure in big names. Too bad, NO ONE wanted to play there. No one!!

I think losing Dwight was the biggest mistake ever. Kobe‘s so called loyalty and love for the franchise certainly disappeared during those sales pitches to Dwight and other FA. Kobe knew he had LA by the throat as he put on an act, then milked LA for 2 more years with his contract.

But Jeanie and Jim knew this was the only route they could take with Kobe and the Lakers.

Kobe‘s character will always be in question, but he sure as hell didn‘t give any damns about transitioning over to the next generation of players.

who will be byke in the playoffs first: Knicks or Lakers?

NY Knicks | NY Jets | NY Yankees

Personally for me, them sucking sucks. But nothing lasts forever. They've won 5 titles I can vividly remember them winning, and 3 others on top of that in my lifetime. I could deal with some crappy seasons considering all the good I've seen.

Most teams fanbases would give anything just to see their team win the title once in their lifetime, let alone have anything close to the success the Lakers have had over the years. That's how I put it all into perspective.

That said, they're terrible right now, and will likely be terrible for a few more seasons.

Nah, Kobe was too narcisstic, too fake. Dude talks like he bleeds purple n.gold, but we ALL knew what he did during Free Agency, how the rumors about him leaving, how he cried and whinned for certain personnel.

Jim n Jeanie did all they could in those regards, especially when it was evident where the Lakers were heading. Kobe was unwilling to compromise the limelight. No FA, no trades, no attempt to transition or contest.

Instead, they figured it would make more sense to capitulate and let Kobe go on this, Farewell Good Bye Good Guy tour and restart once he is out the door.

This was the only ROUTE into preserving the face of the franchise.

Howard one of those players who puts up numbers but to me I honestly don't feel the impact quite like his Orlando days. Perhaps just the way that team was built

Ultimately it's probably his back problems. He doesn't move the same as he used to. Especially the year he was a laker
post #78178 of 93193

5th 30 point game. Most for a rookie since Dame Lillard.

Been showing a lot of ability to create for himself & others out of the PnR too.

We might have our next good SG.

True, but Im talking about LA going all in on him, then losing him.

Nash was a total theft though. Losing Pau and Howard?! and bringing in Clown Young??

Hindsight is 20/20, but Kobe, being a voice, made no attempt to contest. I would‘ve rather see the last 2 years with Kobe, Pau, etc competiting. Too bad though. Kobe about his shoe signture crap. Dude signing his own shoes on the aide and hoping to auction them off when he needs money to stay relevant.
