Guys worshipped WB as a diet last season.
yeah lol RW makes bonehead decisions all the time but his talent and athleticism covers up for them. dude's the king of making the most boneheaded plays when there are 6 mins or less left in the game.

idt it's hard to avg as many assists as he does with the thunder talent level and him having the ball in his hand 90% of the time.
exactly. those assist stats are fools gold. dude isnt that good of  a passer or decision maker.

can KD develop a consistent low post game? hes usually got a smaller defender on him...fadeaway/turnaround would be untouchable

He was shooting that Dirk one-legged fadeaway a couple seasons ago, but I haven't really seen him do it this year.

way too talented to be floating on the outside
back down and flip it over the shorter guys. doesnt have to be fancy or flashy in the post, look at kawhi.

Never said OKC had a chance to make the Finals, for the record.

what?

westbrook is great at drawing extra defenders and dropping it off to a big for open layups
so you aint seen him have an open basket then try to force it to another player before to statpad?

kobe was hella immature back in the day, but he's grown up and learned how to be a great leader

cant keep sticking to 10 year old narratives, just like last month I think we were playing OKC when dlo and clarkson were keeping us in the game so kobe told byron to not sub him in so the kids could build confidence

All right, man. I think we have different views on what makes someone a "great leader." If Kobe fits your definition of that term, cool.

i mean the only examples you could bring up were dwight who doesnt get along with anyone and a 10 year old comment about bynum. its one thing to have different views but if pretty much all evidence suggests the opposing view then at some point it becomes seeing what you want to be true rather than what's actually in front of you.

Critical Thinking:

What's your definition of a great leader? Give a couple present day examples and why. Show your work.

lol

What makes a great leader tho?? making everyone feel better and protecting feelings?

Kobe is one of the winning players of all time, all of that occured with him as either the #1 option or 1B. That's a Fact
Kobe has elevated the game of every star caliber player he's played with, That's a fact
Kobe never shies away from taking the blame, and rarely has been one to put blame on others
Kobe is known for being intense and rallying guys in order to get them to have a winning mentality

How does someone who fits those criterias not be considered a good leader. Because him trying to win has lead to a few arguments and disagreements with players.

Even in the case of Dwight, He spoke about Howards lack of focus on winning, In order to correct it he changed his entire game guaranteed the playoffs and carried that team to the best record in the west after the AS break.

back when bynum was in his prime and just starting to get his confidence mike brown drew up a play for kobe for a GW but kobe told him that they were going to give it to bynum for the win :pimp:

:smh: Damn injuries man. I watched damn near every game during those years and Bynum really had some special talents. Such a great touch finishing around the rim and wonderful patience with his footwork/pivot game.

It's a shame how his career has transpired (and how in a few short years his type of role has almost disappeared from the league), because when healthy and motivated he could have been a franchise player.

I loved prime bynum damn. Dude worked with kobe all of the time too. Dude had post moves. :smokin He had the size. :smokin He had footwork. :smokin He had a mentality like Whiteside :x

And all you've given is a couple anecdotes about Kobe deferring to the younger guys in limited situations. What about the other times this season when he was jacking up terrible shots and had Russell and Clarkson just standing around? Is that great leadership? You could argue that this whole, look-at-me, farewell tour that he's on (which he said he'd never do) is stunting the development of the younger players. The Lakers have done nothing but get worse since Phil left and Kobe has become the unquestioned face of the franchise. So, what is his supposed leadership really doing for them? Has he helped make guys like Nick Young any better? Doesn't seem like it.

You're the one on here who puts results about everything else. So, please tell me the positive things that Kobe has accomplished through his great leadership. Explain to me how, over roughly the last six years, other players on the Lakers have gotten better because they're playing with Kobe.

I agree with Lonely Average White Guy Down On Ground.

Kobe‘s leadership was questionable all along. He has had a history of it. He never gelled with any body and he was always berating players and conspiring against them.

I agree no one is born a leader, but Kobe‘s approach has always been on the high horse. He forgets how his team mates played those roles and help get him there.

His inability to be like water and adjust to different personalities like Dwight is a reflection of his game. He can‘t be always attacking players that way. He can‘t whip as hard either.

When people talk about Kobe, people have to remember how cunning and two headed he was. He was Nutellaing and Big m Tastying everything. The guy was squeeky clean and I mean Grant Hillesqe like, but that Denver incident revelaed who he really was. You are truest when no one is watching....

From then on, Kobe signed with Nike and the AZK1 came out, he bought the ring to cover his faults, and he tattooed himself for acceptance.

Surely but slowly, his image won over again because of Pau, Artest, PJ.

Many kids copping $200 retros won‘t know this, but these are facts.

A great leader? Nah. Great husband? Come on. Greatest post Jordan era? Maybe. Con man? ForSure.

@stephenasmith: What the hell is going on? The way the @okcthunder look they won't be getting out of the 2nd rnd.
You have to play either the #1 or #2 seed in the 2nd round, and considering the #1 seed is on pace to shatter the best record of all time & the #2 seed is on pace to win 69-70 games, losing in the 2nd round this year isn't shameful at all.

Great husband??? This is what we commenting on lol. Is this how far the hot takes have gone
Very entertaining discussion.
