He was behind behind Wes Matthews, Batum, Lillard and them in POR...no real room for him to see on court action for a 50+ win team. Plus, he had to work on his jumper, control and tighten his handle. He has all the tools, but came a long way.

People forget he was the #1 SG in the Nation coming out of HS. Went to Memphis and went under the radar because Josh Pasnter is a horrible coach.

1st round talent that slipped to the mid 2nd round.
 
Also seen cousins for whiteside and Winslow. So basically Kings would essientially be trading cousins for Winslow, considering they had whiteside for nothing man..
 
Hard to see any team trading anything of value for Whiteside considering they wouldn't have Bird Rights in the summer.

Thought he'd be a 15ppg microwave guy in the league. Totally forgot about him. He started off his career ok too. Flamed out quick. Damn.

regardless of who he was behind in portland, it made no sense to me that he wasn't doing what he's doing in denver at portland. portland had no bench so i always found it weird that he didn't really get a chance to be a spark off the bench over there.

Stotts wasn't willing to let Barton off the leash like that. Perhaps he should have, but I can see why he didn't.
 
Most of the time when you play for veteran teams and the coach is trying to win, they will play the vets over the rookies. Not all coaches do this, but you'll see it more often than not. I'm witnessing it right now and still cannot believe Jordan Adams is not getting a chance to shine. He's still hurt right now, but I'm hoping to see him getting 20+ minutes a night once he returns.

Coaches simply think veterans are more likely to help their team than a rookie. When you're coaching for your life and don't want to risk a rookie messing things up due to his growing pains, you just deal with the 30+ year old guys to basically not mess up :lol: .

Exactly. Especially guards. It's why CJ Mcollum wasn't getting any burn...or Jordan Adams, or CJ Wilcox, or Jeremy Lamb etc etc. Sometimes, it's the right decision because their is little room for error with these veteran teams that view themselves as contenders...or close to it. Sometimes, the coaches being conservative stops them from finding a diamond in the rough.

So I understand why a guy like Will wasn't getting burn in Portland. They loved him in Portland...but Will used to be full of boundless energy...and hadn't harnessed it in yet.

Will is turning into a better, more polished version of Corey Brewer. Which is very valuable.

I've been seeing so many embarrassing trade scenarios for the pass few days concerning multiple teams. Unless a trade actually goes through, I dint believe anything :lol: all it takes is for 1 vocal person to make up the wrong info and if will spread swiftly.
