D Rose is a product of Chicago too... Came into the league at 19 as well... No excuse mane.

He grew up with his old lady and no father. Anybody from Chi knows that single mothers (that aren't flat out birds) out there are strict as hell. and he had 3 older brothers that knew he was their family's ticket out

because Chi mothers are more strict than all other mothers....

they really are. (obviously speaking at a general level) its hard for a young man to grow up in Chicago, even if he doesn't want to be about that life. I'm speaking for black mothers only here, although it applies [to some degree] all/most races within the city

Jah 2-0 in da streets.

For real tho.. 6ers should suspend him or something.

He got more W's than the 76ers this year, let him live :pimp:

But in all seriousness, dudes gotta be careful. There's always that 1 knucklehead who isn't gonna take that L lightly and come after you with a gun

Surprised nobody is bringing up the fact of him being 19 at a club/bar (or was it not confirmed?)

I understand that, but you could honestly say that about all kids growing up in a single mother home within a large city. It's tough. I agree with that, but he's not the first single mother dude from the inner city to play in the NBA. Dude went to Duke and gained that Larger than life celebrity attitude. Too bad he's b-list.

Anyways, I'm done talking about him. Carry on.

its cool , if you don't know anybody from Chicago or haven't experienced the culture/idiosyncrasies yourself, I wouldn't expect you to understand past a generality.

I want to see the young brother win! I want this young man to flourish and enjoy himself and make his mark, his status as a pro ball player alone is an indication of years of hard work. Regardless of where he is from, this is his present situation and it seems to me that a reality check is in order, just as one should be for a 19 year old who needs one. As a pro athlete, sure these things are learned over time, but I'd hate for Jahlil to be an exception to this rule.
