Still can't fully comprehend Houston's decline. Would rockets fans prefer blowing it up (but keeping harden) and getting a hesd start on a rebuild?

IMO, if they were to blow it up, they need to include Harden in that demolition.

Eh. It's hard enough to get a player like Harden, let alone do it again. And you do so not knowing who that's going to be or where that player would come from.

The Rockets are believed to be seeking at least one future first-round draft pick in exchange for Dwight Howard, sources tell ESPN.

Minnesota has no ongoing trade talks for guard Ricky Rubio now, league sources tell @TheVertical. That may change in the summer, though.

Guard Michael Carter-Williams has been told by the Bucks that he would not be traded, a source said, but the Sixers told him the same thing.

Bill Simmons [emoji]10004[/emoji] @BillSimmons

Off Steiny Mo's report: what about D-Lee's expiring/Cody Zeller/C's 1st pick to Hou, Dwight to Hornets, Big Al to Boston. BIG AL COMES HOME!

PS: I meant Boston's actual 1st rounder (not the Brooklyn pick) obviously..

Sources: Charlotte's shown no interest in cashing assets for Dwight Howard. Clifford loved coaching Howard in Orlando, but no path to deal.

@WojVerticalNBA: Detroit is still probing the market for a veteran guard, league sources tell @TheVertical.

SVG can have his pick of Calderon, Afflalo, or Vujacic

Bill Simmons was pretty cool to me. I actually enjoy his commentary on TV from time to time. But man, when he speaks full frontal face to the camera, he looks rather creepy. Something in his eyes just looks like he is staring into space. He kinda reminds me of Jake Jill in Nightcrawler.

I really like his podcasts (although his most recent al micheals one was pretty bad)

His articles are OK

His TV presence was awful

Not sure why Simmons wants a 31-year-old coming off a meniscus tear who can't defend or stretch the floor. The league has passed those type of guys by. I like Big Al but he's a dinosaur.

I think simmons thinks alford can just sit at the top of the key and drain shots.  He thinks that if boston can get this type of player, they are going to be really good.

The NBA issued the following memo today regarding instances of a player jumping on an opponent’s back during a free throw attempt:

MEMO TO: NBA OWNERS, GENERAL MANAGERS, COACHES, AND GAME OFFICIALS

FROM: KIKI VANDEWEGHE, EVP, BASKETBALL OPERATIONS; MIKE BANTOM, EVP, REFEREE OPERATIONS

DATE: FEBRUARY 16, 2016

RE: JUMPING ON A PLAYER’S BACK DURING FREE THROW ATTEMPTS

We have recently seen instances during games in which a player, in order to commit a deliberate foul, jumps on an opponent’s back during a free throw attempt. This is a potentially dangerous play against a player in a vulnerable position.

Please be advised that the referees have been instructed to evaluate such plays under all applicable playing rules, including the rules relating to Flagrant Fouls. Players remain free to commit deliberate fouls during free throw attempts, but such fouls will be assessed as Flagrant if they meet the applicable criteria. (See this memo of October 26 for the factors used in determining and classifying Flagrant Fouls.)

Please contact either of us if you have any questions.

Forgot it was cp3 who started that, of course. Why is that even necessary

I'd love it if they just wwf style held them on their back and then fell backwards.  That would stop those dudes from jumping up
