Mike realized he didn't have it anymore and changed his game. I think Kobe's ego will prevent him from doing that. I honestly think Kobe could play and be effective another 2-3 years if he took a secondary/third role and helped the young guys develop on the Lakers or went to a contender. The way he's playing now, the Lakers gotta get him outta there after the season is over.
Comes at the core. Michael was always a bigger, stronger athlete than Kobe so even in his older age, he could use that size and athleticism to get relatively easier shots than Kobe does right now.

Kobe actually post up just like Jordan did, but he's being pushed all the way out to the three point line in some cases.

All I know is when Kobe retires it's going to be all over every major news media all over the world. We won't hear the end of it for weeks
I highly doubt it.

It'll be mentioned, of course, but outside of the sports world it's not going to be some mega-story.

i don't think it'll go on for weeks but one of the best athletes to ever play retiring is a big deal

Even though it's early, Curry is killing the competition in all aspects.

Except defensively.

But offensively, he's doing everything a coach and organizations can ever dream of.

Kobe is a pretty big international icon from what I've seen, more than most popular American athletes. It'll be bigger than you think.

son one of the biggest athletes and stars of all time. he has a star on the hollywood walk of fame b. he's bigger in china than yao. it's going to be a mega story. remember how big the story was in bron simply left cleveland? it was on every media outlet. Kobe retiring will be bigger.

curry has been playing commendable defense by my estimate based on his offensive output.

The few times Curry was on paul in the 4th, his defense on Paul was exceptional. Not dying on screens, getting over horns, didn't look like an average defender at all.

Mario outchea selling bad product. He probably was Beasley's connect as well.

Spoelsta said he is glad Gerald Green is OK and declined further comment.

Mario Chalmers sore and might not play tonight.

I said outside of the sports world.. it'll be a big deal for a day or two, get mentioned on the talk and cable news shows that day, and that's it. It's not going to be a multi-week ordeal where CNN is running their "Kobe Retirement Watch" updates or anything.

Sports wise? It'll be a huge story, of course.

Spot on.

I think Kobe keep trying to cut weight trying to get faster but it's neglects strength which supposedly fades more slowly than speed.

Agree. Plus, everyone knows its coming and, honestly, thinks it should happen. Makes it less of story. Not like MJ's first retirement when he left the game in his prime. Or when Lebbywinks left Cleveland for Miami. That was unexpected and a bigger deal because he was ditching his "home town" team.

Kobe hanging it up after 20 years in the league will definitely be acknowledged, but it won't be an all-consuming story on all media outlets.

Guessing Golden State is going to get away with moving picks/screens all season long.
Refs now just seem to chalk it up to the Warrior's own unique style of play :\ :smh:

yup...cried about this every time I saw the Warriors play. It's blatant but the refs can't call all of them and now that they're the champs they'll call it even less.

Yeah, they both stopped the Knicks from winning a championship
:x super ugly...repped.

I agree. Mike played much closer to the basket the older he got. I think Kobe could still be effective if he did the same thing. Scott needs to have Kobe work off the ball on the baseline and at the elbow. His days of destroying dudes on isos are over.
