 The Timberwolves had started to practice on Sunday when Newton got word from Taylor of Saunders' death. Practice was halted and a devastated Garnett left the floor, walked to the

parking garage at the practice facility and sat down in the spot marked for Saunders. He posted a picture of the moment on his Facebook page with the message "Forever in my heart ..."

Damn, man.  Rest in peace, Flip.

Pretty much. They said he wouldn't coach the season so we thought it was so he could rest and fight. Guess they knew the end was closer than we were led on.

They announced it in August, but the story a few weeks ago did not give me a lot of hope. It was said that there were complications and his body wasn't handling it well. So they might have caught it later than they led on and once they announced he wouldn't return this year, that it was pretty much a sign that things had took a real turn for the worse.

A damn shame. 60 is still way too young and he'll be sorely missed.
