Sometimes its the organization that's a bad fit for a player. Laker fans already calling him D'bust because of his turnover to assist ratio. Low blow especially after one game. He's obviously a player but I hope the Lakers don't ruin him. And Byron playing mind games talking about he didn't know if D'lo would start smh.

i didnt even know he had a turnover or assist

would rather the kid try to be aggressive, go 2/10 with 6 turnovers than that no show last night

wiggins was just as bad, didnt even want to be on the floor playing basketball 
 
I don't like the ISO Wiggins offense either. They are doing him a disservice but telling him to post up on the wing every play
 
LeBron and the Cavs blowing out a western conference playoff team by 30 at home. I'm suppose to believe he wouldn't survive had he played in the West? Please.

No way. He got his off the muscle, but he had no choice considering how bad the roster was.

But playing Dlo and Clarkson on the floor an any combination of Kobe, young, and Williams isn't helpful. Add Randle to that mix and there's a whole lot of offense high jacking going on

Read Nazr's blog I posted a few pages back. Weaknesses withstanding, Russell can't just dominate like we all hope because of the team construction and dynamic.

only kobe gets his touches because of who he is. everyone else gets touches because they have shown that they will make plays once they get the ball.

russ needs to earn the keys to the franchise

And it is a tale of bravery and fortitude.

Los Angeles Lakers power forward Julius Randle was likely still in his crib when Kevin Garnett first donned a Minnesota Timberwolves jersey, stepped onto an NBA court and trash-talked his way through his first professional game. It was early November 1995, and Randle had not yet celebrated his first birthday.



While Garnett’s once-prolific offensive game may have slowed in the 20 years since, his mouth has not. So when Randle, in his second regular season contest ever, matched up with Garnett, in his 1425th game, it was no surprise that the veteran bodied up the young Laker, chirping at him only 21 minutes into the season.



The two became tangled deep in the paint on a Lakers field goal attempt, and at the dead ball a few moments later, Garnett approached Randle under the basket, got in his face and began to talk. The referee’s whistle quickly blew, but -- to the elation of Lakers fans everywhere -- Randle responded to Garnett, chirping back before the two were separated.

Minutes after their scuffle, with Randle taking the ball out of bounds and Garnett pressing Los Angeles’ ball handler, the power forward threw the ball off of Garnett’s back, caught it and brought it up himself. Got him!




A shrewd play? 100 percent. Intentionally disrespectful? Potentially. The end of the beef between these two big men? Not a chance.



“KG’s competitive,” Randle said later Wednesday night. “It was good to go up against him … I have the same confidence in my game, I don’t care who it is [I match up with].”



Asked if Garnett really did talk trash, the Laker said, “Of course.”



“I like that though -- it gets me going,” Randle continued. “… It doesn’t scare me. I’m not scared of anybody. The main thing is we know that’s his thing. That’s what he does, try to get in people’s heads -- I’ve been watching him all my life, so I knew what to expect.”



With Kobe Bryant’s retirement looming and no immediate championship prospects on the horizon, Lakers fans’ mindsets have become fixated on the future. The fight Randle showed on Wednesday will only endear him even more quickly to those who bleed purple and gold.

1 game b. in a season opener. take a deep breff. bron would be food in the west long term.



not to mention, memphis been fool's gold. mediocre at it's finest. good when it doesn't matter, meh when it counts.

its not about dominating or even being good, he just didn't do anything. he spends all his time dribbling 35 feet from the basket waiting for a screen to come by only to walk through the pnr and pass the ball off. you cant blame the system for this lack of aggression, sure byron's system doesnt help but great players make plays out of nothing that's what makes them great.

hopefully it's just his first game and once he gets comfortable he will be more aggressive but so far I have not seen it. Even his preseason highlights are mostly mid range pull ups
