The Lopez talks had been ongoing for a while before, just kept stalling when it came to the point of them wanting Presti to throw in a first. Also, he wouldn't sign his extension first so you had that risk involved.

He needs to see how his guys stack up more than he needs to get in the head of the opponent or withold critical players until they face off, IMO
He isn't guaranteed a trip to the WCF, he knows that after last year. He will bring the hard hitters tomorrow and go for the win, IMO
