Kristaps at least shoots 3's though, so that makes up for his poor FG%.

Randle is out here bricking at the rim cuz he can't finish over length, can't finish with his off hand....and his jumper is broken.

its unfair to say randle cant finish with his off hand

we have no evidence of him ever using it

I really don't watch enough knick games to try and act like I know why Krispy shoots a low percentage at the rim as a 7'3 player. I'm sure it's probably not as ugly as randle's paint game right now but the production is similar.

Randle makes Jeremy Lin look ambidextrous.

I was told by a laker fan on here that Randle's inability to finish with his off hand wasn't a factor :nerd:

I don't understand how yall watch nba games every night and don't realize most players rarely finish with their off hand . He's just not a good finisher in general right now.

Thing is, most players CAN finish with their off hands when need be. So nobody is going to sit on a particular hand and give them an opportunity to finish with their off hand.....it's still a threat and a make-able shot.

Randle on the other hand, (no pun intended) absolutely cannot, and will not..... so teams will sit on his left hand all day. Which leads to blocked shots and turnovers.

Watching damn near every game he's honestly probably like 3 for 7 with his right hand. Just look for it and you'll see how most players work their way back to their strong hand.

I think it happens more often than you're suggesting. Just on the Clippers for example, Blake, CP and even DJ have at least one off-hand completion per game. I wouldn't call that "rare." Lots of players having going to their offhand as a component of their offensive day.

Just to be clear, are you saying you think Randle is as good as, and has as a high a ceiling as, Kristaps? It's not clear.

If a player has to take a shot at the rim with their off hand, they will do it.

If Julius Randle has to take a shot with his off hand, he won't . I know it's your job to defend these guys....but take the kid gloves off and call it how you see it. Everybody even in Lakers land knows it's a huge weakness which he has to work on.

I mean I thought Manu was left hand dominant, but Julius takes the cake.

they can when they are comfortable. when the game isn't in jeopardy. when they aren't being guarded tough. Or in practice and layup drills.

Make them uncomfortable though. Stay close to their dominant hand. They will revert back to what is most instinctual for them. They will switch to that dominant hand no matter what. Force of habit. Very few nba players are truly free in their minds to go left to right with little to no loss. Steph, kyrie, bron, russ, kobe. Seems like just the elite. Hell, even harden reverts to that left more often than not.

I don't know why, but i've probably watched about 80% of Laker games this season. I think Randle has an elite motor and a level of physicality that can't be taught. He also has showcased a little bit of a feel for seeking out teammates. He's a decent playmaker. And he can rebound.

Everything else though for me  is straight cringeworthy to watch and he has a bit of a ways to go being a dependable PF for a winner. What he doesn't do well supersedes what he does well and that's okay, because he's a rookie, a young guy on a young team. I'm rooting for him. But man his individual game needs work. From the shooting, to the non existent off hand, to the creating of offense for himself, he can't defend, all needs work.

I like Larry Nance more than Julius tbh.

Surprised Randle is only shooting 50% from inside 3 feet considering he is as athletic as Blake Griffin.

Anyway, Porzingis has taken 101 threes. Randle has taken 87 Shots total outside of 10 feet. Porzingis shoots 32% from 3. Randle shoots 35% outside of 3 feet. The difference is Porizingis has taken 324 shots outside of 3 feet while Randle has only taken 169.

Blake likes to palm it with his left and dunk from time to time. Dj is one of those confused players that's right handed but shoots left. And cp is very skilled. The rest of the clippers and the league, it's rare. You can watch a 10 minute harden highlight reel and count on one hand how often he finishes right. Jordan clarkson never finishes left and he was an elite finisher last season.

When Shane battier was with houston I read about how they would gather all these analytics to help him guard kobe. He was saying how the numbers normally help because most guys heavily favor their strong hand but kobe was extremely rare because he was 51% right and 49% left. Just look for it and you'll clearly see for yourself.

Those are high pressure situations though. I know, and can understand that. I'm talking about everyday game flow. And Julius Randle hasn't been put in any high pressure situations yet, so this doesn't really apply to him .

Trust me, I know full and well that players prefer to go to their dominant hand when finishing....but a few times a game when they can't go that hand during the flow of the game...they have no problem finishing with the off hand.

I seen Randle do a reverse when he could just finish an easy layup with his right

I love basketball man. There's only so many teams that play in that 7:30 slot and during the first half of the season it's even less since most of those 7:30 slotted teams are traveling or on the road. (I.E. why LAC and LAL basically were on the road for much of december)

So like if there's a 7:30 game on with LAL I'll watch with no hesitation. Plus the Lakers are mildly entertaining for a few reasons.

Only team I don't care for and won't really watch are the 76ers.

I think Porzingis struggles finishing at the rim sometimes cause he's just not strong enough yet. There's times where he trys a finesse shot instead of going up strong.

I'm beyond happy with his development so far, especially on defense.
