just a gut feeling but i think OKC is either keeping both or losing both.

As of right now I think KD reups this summer with okc for a one year deal and depending on how tht year goes that will determine if he finishes his career with okc or not. Think him reupping is a forgone conclusion at the miment.

Now depending on how they finish this season, the aforementioned could change if they flame out in the postseason

Why didn't you mention LA (the team that makes the most sense) and what moves they'd have to make (none) to get KD.

All they'd have to do is add, no subtraction needed. Adding to the current roster + KD, super easy. Plus, it's LA man.

Because you're adding him to Clarkson, Nance, Randle, and Nick Young(?), a bunch of guys that could be cool individual pieces for teams that are already good, but a dumpster while they're together. I'm sure living in LA is fantastic, but living in LA and being a loser isn't. Based on that (and what Essential mentioned about the Wizards and Rockets currently), staying in OKC looks like the best option.

Even if I think it's a small option. And not very realistic... It's really the only choice if he does leave.

Russell/Clarkson/Randle/Nance isn't like it's the only thing they have. They'll have enough room for KD. 1 more full max. Plus $10-15mil, maybe more depending if they lose the pick or if they trade a Lou Will or Nick Young.

And significant money the next year.

So it's wouldn't be very hard to field a contender with KD coming over.

What the problem is... Would need other stars to get KD. Need KD to get other stars. A chicken or the egg paradox.

If another FA makes the jump first? Then it's much more plausible.

The odds are not very high, 5% maybe. But it's easily the best place for him to go if he leaves. (GSW discounted because of amount of moves needed to get to KD).

Carmelo Anthony’s locked in and playing multi-dimensional basketball for the first time since who-knows when. Dating back to New York’s Dec. 19 win over Chicago (the beginning of the death slate), he’s leading the team in points (22.2), rebounds (8.5) and assists (4.6) per game and has shown visible defensive effort. He’s ceding shots to a rejuvenated Arron Afflalo  and nuclear highlight generatorKristaps Porzingis. That trust has lent itself to his most inspired play in years, and the team appears to be following suit

I can't front I'm enjoying the process of the Knicks becoming irrelevant again. Affalo, Krispy, Robin, and Melo are a very very solid core.

only relevant because of pozingas? or its the East? or just that its about darn time?
You mentioned the East like the East current top 8 teams does not have a better record than the West top 8 right now (minus GS and Spurs of course)

The Knicks finally have a decent set of personnel this year as well as a more team-player Melo also the unsurprisingly great success of Prozingis.

The Lakers are not getting Kevin Durant.

Or Al Horford

Or Whiteside.

And we won't get Westbrook the following year either.

you laughing bc you think its cute...but trust, OKC is the last team you wanna see in the playoffs.
I don't know man, they've got some serious defensive issues. They're like 27th in Defensive efficiency since Christmas. Lack of depth / Rotations could be an issue as well for them.

okc shouldve went all in and resigned james harden. even if he had remained in that 6th man/manu role, he was starting to show it all.

I don't know if it's cause Fisher shortened his rotation, cause we're running less triangle & more PnR, cause that Bulls game gave us a wake up call, but the Knicks have been playing excellent basketball lately.

This is as good as I've ever seen Melo play in NY. Watching him do what everyone knows he's capable of doing is fun as hell. There were times where he'd make a great defensive play or make a nice pass & you'd say "Why can't he do that all the time?". Now at age 31 he's making those plays all the time. He's giving 100% effort on both sides of the ball all the time.

On paper this is probably the best team Melo's played with in NY. I truly think we're a couple pieces away from being a legit contender in the East. Whether we get Durant, Conley, Fournier, Batum, etc. next summer I know Phil has a plan & we'll be byke sooner rather than later.

They getting washed regardless

Yeah, I reluctantly agree. I'd like to think the Heat will give them a game, but I don't see it. The Dubs will go small and neutralize Whiteside and a small Heat team won't be able to compete with the small GSW team. GSW by at least 15.
