Atlanta and Memphis both have a connection and significance to Dr. King, it seems only right that they get a national TV game.

Memphis hosts an annual MLK Celebration http://www.nba.com/grizzlies/news/mlk-celebration-day-151229 as well.

You're only complaining because of your dislike of Atlanta and because the Spurs aren't on the schedule. It's well-known MLK hated San Antonio.. he wrote about it in his Letters from a Birmingham Jail

 about him and San Antonio.

Its not anything to do with hatred of the Hawks, these are just going to be boring games.

And even when the games are exciting on paper.. they can still end up being boring. It's two division match-ups for cities that have an MLK connection, and then a matchup between two Western conference playoff teams, and then a Finals re-match. Fine by me.

It is always something about those games on MLK day that never allow me to emotionally connect. I don't know if it is the pre-game / Halftime ceremony that just takes me out of a basketball mindset but there always seems to be a weird cloud hovering while those games are played

I think it might be just the general NBA corporate machine and sponsorships that might be a reason.

Who starts/gets most of the work at center? I can't see any of those guys (Dwight, Drummond, DMC, DJ) standing out as a clear option for different reasons. Does AD get a look at C here?

You can't take Drummond / Dwight / DeAndre because they all essentially have the same scouting report. I would cut Drummond and DeAndre and keep Dwight simply due to previous service. You don't need 3 dunking, non-shooting, shot blocking dudes on the team.

DeMarcus, I would keep. He brings something else to the table.

Dwight

DMC

BBVA, yea, those people. NBA really drilled them into my head over the last few years man

Touche.

See? DC gets it, the games don't do anything to convey the message they're intended to convey, so why not just pick other games.

Yea man, it is just a LOT of talent there man. For the sake of conversation, this is who I would go with. How many do I take 12 or 15? I forget.

Cp3/ Steph/Kyrie

Harden/Westbrook/Klay

KD/George

LeBron/Melo

Blake/AD/Love

Dwight/DMC

I mean, I understand the importance of those two cities in his storyline, so I wouldn't change them out for that alone. But yea, the games never do anything for ME.

No Leonard or Green?

Is this like 2013? ;lol
I mean Kawhi is good but you can't justify him being there over folks at his position. Plus I honestly feel USAB feels indebted to PG for what happened to him.

And you have to consider legacy when selecting those teams, it might not be 2013, but folks that have already played in 2 Olympic games will get preferential treatment, as they should

drop steph and klay and love if you had to make room. if steph isn't scoring a lot, you've negated his biggest asset. and on a team stacked like this you don't need scoring from the PG like that. so id take the better natural facilitators in cp3 and kyrie.

klay gotta drop cuz he just too inconsistent.

love gotta go cuz he has no business on this list.

I feel bad for those 2nd tier PG's mans. They have NO chance at all and it isn't necessarily because of anything they have done in particular

Leonard is on there, let's be serious Danny does not deserve to be even considered the way he been playing this season, coming from a huge Spurs fan.

I only person I know I would cut is Harden and Love. Can you imagine Harden and Love on the floor together, good god that would be awful.

I am looking at if from a structure standpoint.

You don't eliminate shooting. Klay and Steph have to be there.

Same with Love, no other big is going to stretch the floor like he will. Plus he had a very strong display in 2012.

Agree with this 100%. If he, or the Pacers brass say something negative then it's back to college players. But being that Colangelo and Coach K said he is wanted back and the George camp said nothing negative. He has to be there.
