That Okafor move and the one Blake had the other day against the Pistons are good examples of why basketball coaches love to say "don't pick up your dribble."

Why would they do that ?

Cause that's what they do. I've been waiting to see this "plan".

We were the 76ers not to long ago. We drafted players and developed them. We got better year to year. They've been drafting player for a few years now. 0-28 still to start the last two seasons.

Disgusting.
We goofed...big time.

Jabari Parker has a mid foot sprain and is out for 3 games at least. Won't travel on the Deers 3 game road trip.

They jumped ship on MCW because he's not good.

Not because it was "part of their plan"

I don't believe for a second they drafted him strictly for trade bait. They drafted what they thought was a good player. Like Embiid. What part of the "plan" does he fit in? Dudes haven't been tanking for years to get Okafor. They finally made a good pick. Now what?

the 76ers are god awful.... didn't realize that hadn't won a game

shoutout to the fans that attend this misery... y'all some real ones

Agreed. Pretty sure they thought MCW could've been a piece to their long term plan, just didn't pan out that way.

On another note, been thinking about what team I'm going to start being loyal to. So hard when I'm not connected to any city geographically. It's between Wizards and Bulls (mainly because of Rose), but today's news about his blurred vision for months really has me on the edge of giving up hope

My boy has a season tickets and I'll be going to some games. I can't wait honestly. I just love watching basketball live.

Who said they did? He was traded after they realized he wasn't their pg of the future.

You're making it seem like they've been doing this for 10 years. They were just in the playoffs in 2012.

You said he wasn't part of the plan. So either they drafted him knowing this or they couldn't develop him. How can you really judge a young PG when he's surrounded by garbage? He was part of the plan when they took him. They gave up on him. Made a bad pick maybe. Either way it shows how inept they are.

You comprehension game is lacking. I didn't say he wasnt part of the plan. You suggested they're going to trade Okafor because that's "part of their plan" and you used MCW as your basis for that. I said that MCW got traded because he stinks...not anything to do with a plan.

As for the other part...MCW isn't exactly turning heads in Milwaukee either where he's not surrounded by garbage. His ceiling just isn't as high as once thought of. He was a late lottery pick. Noel was their prized possession in that draft. They had the oppurtunity to move MCW while he still had value...and they took it.

It wouldn't be the first time a team moved on from a young prospect before.

Sixers don't really have a plan, they lucked up that the Lakers took Okafor to make up for the Embiid pick (but no way they could have known he'd never set foot on the floor) and legit could have two franchise cornerstones in Noel (who they were lucked into because of New Orleans' incompetence) and Mitch's stupidity. Heinke has been unabashed in his approach to not put a competitive product on the floor in hopes of acquiring as many assets as possible. He better hope it comes through this summer when they literally have a 1/3 of the lottery to themselves.

Danillo Gallinari is a marvel. How does one guy get hurt so much and come back and always produce. Huge fan of that guy. It's Lowkey one of the best bargains in basketball. 4 million dollars for that guy.

IT WAS A JOKE! I don't expect them to move Okafor. It was a jab at the type of BS the 6ers have been doing for a few years. My god man every word I say is analyzed to the letter. 6ers been talking about this plan and take MCW who they trade and Embiid who can't get on the floor. There was no plan. They finally made a good pick.

Gallo is the man, but he makes almost 4 times that amount (14 Million).

There's a really good chance that MCW ends up just a very average PG... and that pick they netted for him could be a better prospect.

Of course, at some point you have to put a product on the floor and try to win, but it's not as if they've been trading young guys for picks for the last decade.. we're in year 3 of this.

By next year, they'll have Saric, Noel, Okafor to go along with another top pick or two (depending on the Lakers situation) and if Embiid can be healthy, that's another asset they could trade away for some help, maybe a veteran guy perhaps. There's a lot worse situations your franchise could be in.
