Are selfless driving cars the future?

Automated vehicles are going to shrink municipal revenue from tickets. It will also eliminate the need for the police to regulate traffic. Causing their "industry" to shrink.
Police unions and lawmakers will stall the implementation of this technology for as long as possible.

A lot of people don't use seat belts in taxis. That's how they'll get people. You'll see a driver less cop car with a cop in the backseat catching people for not wearing seat belts and or texting while being in the car.

I hope so

I trust a car coded my some of the best programmers and engineers in the world more than a drunk driver

And if it reduces traffic and accidents, I'm all for it

Here it is:

"Ethical robots

And then there are the ethical issues. Sometimes, a driver must decide whether to swerve right or left, for instance — either injuring three people in a truck or potentially killing a person on a motorcycle. Those types of ethical dilemmas would require the software in a self-driving car to weigh all the different outcomes and come to a final solution on its own.

A machine that can do that would be unprecedented in human history, Shladover said. Even drones that target enemies in war are remotely manned by a human who has final say about the killing, Shladover added.

"There's always a human on the other side who has to make that decision about using deadly force," Shladover said."

id use it so that i can go get hammered and wake up at home.

or id use it on my daily commute and catch a nap.

it'll save gas, trafffic jams, and a lot of lives if perfected.

Lol wiping ignorance from my brain when you can't grasp the concept of Tesla car updates.

Here's the Tesla blog spelling out exactly what the update is and not a beta.
http://www.teslamotors.com/blog/your-autopilot-has-arrived
But they are test cars. That's all. No one likes the idea of being in a car that's easy to hijack + people will try to steal the cars. Maybe in another world but we live on Earth.

They aren't test cars lol , people are driving these cars on the road , tesla just came out with a new software update that allows "self driving " to work

You talking to a wall

I'm only using this after it's been out in the market for multiple years being tested by all types of people. Once they get it down though, it'll be crazy helpful. All the deaths due to drunk driving, bad driving, whatever else will be reduced to just technical glitches which will hopefully be minimal. That would be a huge breakthrough saving tons of lives.

The car company will be completely to blame though for any accidents then though. Every accident could be a lawsuit against the car company.

Dam that's crazy they obviously have a lot of bugs to work out.

I love driving, I am only interested in using stop and go technology for traffic and parallel parking for the city.

Imagine all the work you can get done on your commute everyday. Whew, this will be the new wave once they work out all the glitches.

I might be ignorant but if you're in the drivers seat then that's not self driving to me.

I'd be going to sleep and waking up in Chicago on the regular. Then just sleep again on the way back. So many days off id be there.

Got plans?
No...
Wanna pass out and wake up somewhere else?
Yup.

I'm all for it. Set the gps and put it on autopilot, while I hop in the back seat and take a nap. Boyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy after work, that'll be clutch

Yeah that would be the only reason I did do it. Or id get some really dope meals to go and just eat them in the passenger seat. :pimp: I could get so much more done with auto pilot.

Yeah that would be foul. She just programs it 3ft off center and scrapes every car on the block. :x it could get ugly with a hacker chick.

This is all fun and games until these thots start learning C++, hacks da whip, and sends your *** flying off the nearest bridge
If thots were to evolve and become useful, just switch from c++ to Assembly language. Bam. Thots B Gone

i couldn't trust it though...ever.

one glich and im a goner.

yall can do what yall want im driving my car.

I might be ignorant but if you're in the drivers seat then that's not self driving to me.

nah, i somewhat agree with you. i imagine self-driving is you being able to kick back in the backseat and let the car do all the work.
