When I stroll into any shoe store the first section I start off viewing is the jordan display. When I get there I usually see those "poor choice colorway" retros that no one really cares for (Marvin the Martian 7/statue 9) and I RARELY EVER pay the shoes that are none 1-23 or XX8 & XX9 attention but the other day at finishline I saw the Jordan Rising High sneaker in the black grey and white colorway and had to pause. I stared at them for a second as if to make sure I wasn't buggin then I asked for a pair in my size and to my surprise I actually liked them! Not only was the fit decent but the tech and feel is similar to the protrusion on the XX8 coupled with the durability of the XX9. After playing in them today I have to say these shoes can compete performance wise against the actual AJ line and blow these other signature shoes out of the water. My question is...why is this shoe not a topic of conversation?

it's not trendy. simple as that. like you said, pretty much only the real performance heads are gonna care for them. half the people in the game right now are only here because retros became "cool" on a wide scale due to social media etc. there's nothing for these people to try and emulate with this shoe. it's not in the spotlight at all, no rappers have closets full of them, there's no stories to write about what MJ did in them, they aren't reselling for a bunch of money, etc. etc. a shoe like this just doesn't stand a chance when all this other nonsense is going on around it

Yep, same reason why the Dub Zero retros this year were huge failures... Weird because they were really hyped in 2005.
