5th Grade Teacher Dresses in Blackface for Halloween

every Halloween.  How do people not get it by now, it baffles me

i feel like blackface has come back after not seeing it for a little while

i think these white pc sheep think they found a new loophole or something :smh:

dude wrote that he doesn't see color yet colored himself

There is no history of large-scale dehumanization behind "white face"

Not sure if Grimlock is being serious tho

i think by now people know that blackface isn't a thing that should be done because it's at the very least socially unacceptable to others. that's at the very least nevermind being downright hostile and racist to a segment of our society. anyone continuing to plead ignorance because they weren't aware of its implications is just looking for an easy way out of accepting responsibility and trying to get over on people. like, it doesn't matter trying to investigate what's in a person's heart or whether or not they hold racist feelings deep down inside when they paint themselves up in blackface. none of that matters. you just don't do it because at the very, very least you look like an idiot, if not full blown racist ahole. there's really nothing to dig deeper into here.

Drake threw me off

blackface is just a dumb thing to do because it is a touchy subject with a history of ignorance and racism behind it

however I do think there is a difference between black face to dress up as a specific person and black face to play the stereotypical black person.

people should know better by now though

also i like how they tried to say "private" halloween party as if as long as its behind closed doors its all cool

like the only problem was that this went viral

also - a lot of grown ups obsessed with dressing up in halloween costumes & taking selfies

gotta find something, anything that will bring attention & make it all rewarding

Society has become so sensitive. I see nothing wrong with it.

But his wife doe... More pics

I agree with needing more pics of the wife.

 Do you know the history of blackface? There is nothing funny about it. It has every intention to offend and demean. When someone paints themselves in blackface they are fully aware of what they are doing.

To be honest, I'm not sure if people outside of NT know about the history of blackface. If it weren't for NT I wouldn't know about it, and I still don't .

It's no secret that this has been used historically to ridicule and dehumanize black people

I don't really need to wait for more details to realize that this person is a racist or at the very least has racist tendencies

When I see someone dressed as blackface, I don't assume their doing it with bad intentions, unless they're portraying Trayvon or Mike Brown, or one of the other good kids that have been lost due to trigger happy idiots in this world. If someone dresses up as Trayvon, that would really piss me off.

At the same time, if I or a a white friend were dressing up as Eazy E for Halloween, there would also be no need for painting my face black. The Locs, Raiders hat, flannel and wig should be enough to get the costume across .

Plus you would think as an educator, the guy would know better.

Yeah the wife is nice! :smokin

Dude DEFINITELY out-kicked the coverage

(I think my dude @dreClark coined the term).
No lie I've been using that term since 2007 that's hilarious. It's really an accurate way to describe this type of thing.

Same here bro...dropped it on my boy when he got engaged. He literally spit out his drink

What is the stereotypical black person?

Not trying to defend dude, but it's easy to assume without being there. Just like a photo can make things seem way worse than what they are. we are just so fast to throw racism out there. Every time I turn around, it's about racism.
You DID defend dude.

@Methodical Management   these are the types of dude's that represent you? Seriously disappointed dude used the "people are too sensitive" card.

Out of pocket man.

I dont see anything wrong with it, he was trying to dress as Kanye not as typical black person....people are so damb sensitive nowadays. If dude would have dressed as Pancho villa with a brown face i would be laughing if had pulled it off well.
